Applications have been filed in France, on the vdate of May 21st, 1928, and in Germany, on the'23rd June, 1928, No. C. 41,640.
This invention relates to. spinning and twisting machines and more particularly to an improved machine embodying the principles described in my prior application No; 274,579, dated May 2nd, 1928, wherein the yarn is wound on a dragged bobbin by means of a driven tube or flier carrying yarn guides which impartan adjustable .tension to the yarn. T One object of the inventionis to provide a spinning or twisting machine of the char acter described wherein the driven tube or flier, is of uniform internal diameter andis carriedby two annular ball bearings spaced apartfrom one anotherso as to lie at different levels and carried in fixed rails.
A further object ofthe invention is'to pro- 7 vide'a bobbin holder for mounting a dragged bobbin on a dead spindle, which bobbin holder consists of two parts, viz. a lower part nonrotatably supportedby the: spindle and" an upper part coupled to the lower part by a braking device 'andcarried on a centre'bearing support on the upper end of the spindle.
Another object of the invention is to provide improved dofiing and thread severing arrangements for spinning or twisting machines inwhich a number otspindles' and bobbin holders are mounted on' aspindle supporting table which is rotatable so as to bring any one of the spindles and bobbin holders into the operative'position and to allow dotfing of the filled bobbin.
Other objects of the invention will appear in the following detailed description with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figure l is a front elevation showing the general arrangement of the essential parts of a spinning machine constructed the present invention. p

The handlever 122" is then moved-to the left (Figure 4) so as to rotate the wheel 47 in the clockwise direction thereby lifting the spindle supporting platform 39 by the action of projections 45 and cams 46 so as to disengage the projections on the table 39 from the recesses. The hand lever 122 is then returned.
' to its original position withthe result that the wheel 47 is rotated in the anti-clockwise direction and rotates the table 39 through a quarter of a revolution by engagement of the pawl 56 with one of the teeth 44. After the table 39 has been thus rotated through a quarter of a revolution, the projections on the table 39 fall into fixed recesses so that the table is locked in its new position.
After the table 39 has been rotated through a quarter. of a revolution in this way so as to bring two fresh spindles 22 into the operative positions it is lifted to the wlnding position shown in full lines in Figure 1 by rotation of the hand wheel 102, after which the pin 106 is disengaged from the hole 103 and the hand wheel 102 is turned relative tothe shaft 61 so as to press the spring 101 and re engage the clutch elements 96a and 94.

During the operation of the machine the clutch elements 94 and96a drive the shaft 61 for effecting the lifting and lowering movement for building the bobbins and in the event of obstruction to this movement these clutch elements become automatically,
disengaged.
I claim 1. A spinning machine of the character de scribed including a a rotatable spindle supporting table, a plurality of spindles mounted upon said table, bobbin holders carried on said spindles, at least one driven flier for cooperating with any one of said spindles, 7
means for lowering said spindles from a winding posltion to a dofling position, means for rotating said spindle supporting table when I for returning said spindles to the winding position after rotation of said spindle supporting table and means for automatically severing the end of the thread on the full bobbin. 7
