The present invention relates to confection display devices and is particularly concerned with devices for displaying confections which may simulate the'appearance of building materials such as brick and mortar.

One of the objects of the invention is the provision of a novel confection display device which is'adapted to increase the sales of confections.

Another object of the invention is the provision of an improved confection display device'which will appeal to young and old alike and which will attract the attention of purchasers. l

Another object is the provision of an improved confection display device of the class described which is collapsible so vthat the devices may be conveniently folded and shipped and kept in stock by confectioners in a minimum of space.

Another objectis the provision of an improved article which is adapted to be used as place cards or favors at banquets or other festive occasions where builders, masons, contractors or material men may be present.

Another object is the provision of an improved confection display device which is simple, economical, novel in appearance and construction, and capable of enhancing the sales value of confection ata minimum addition in cost.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description and from the accompanying drawing, in which similar characters of reference indicate similar parts throughout the several views. 7

The present display device may be made of card board or paper having the requisite amountof stiffness, tin, or any sheet'material capable of being used for the same purpose.

, with a tab 20 which is joined to the end fold v The device is preferably constructed of relatively stiif paper or card board and preferably includes a miniature hod indicated in its entirety by the numeral 10 in, Fig. 1, and aminiature hod supporting de- 65 vice 1l. The hod may be formed of a blank having the shape shown in Fig.3, in which a blank of paper having the requisite stiffness v is provided with a crease or fold 12 extend-. inglongitudinally down the middle of the blank and separating the blank into a pair of folds 13 and 14 which are adapted to serve as the sides of the hod. The right ends of the sides 13 and 14 are curvedat 15, 16 to simulate a hod of roundshape at the open end, although the square shape may be utilized if desired. I

The opposite end of one of the folds such as the fold 13 may carry an additional fold. 17 which is jpined to the fold 13 along the line 18, and which is adaptedto serve as the end of the hod; The end'of the hod preferably carries an attaching flange 19 provided 17 along the line 21. The fold 14 may be 5 provided with a pair of slots 22, 23'adapted to receive the tab 20 and secure the parts ofthe hod in the position of Fig. 1, but if desired the tab 20 may be eliminated-and the flange 19. sec'ured'directly to fold 14 by a metallic clip '30 of the type shown at 24, 25 in Fig. 1.

The handle 26 comprises a pair of folds 27, 28 formed by folding a stripflongitudinally upon itself along a line 29 midway between theedges of the strip and the strip is preferably split along the line 29 to the point 30, thereby forming two forked ends 31 for-the handle. The ends 31 ofthe handle maybe secured by metallic clips 32'to the sides 13, 14 of the hod and when itis desired to col-' lapse the hod the'body'of the handle 26 may be folded down against either of the ends 31 and against the side 13 or 14' as shown in Fig. 3.

The hodblank shown in Fig. 3'may be formed into the hod-of Fig.1 by folding the 7 sides 13 and 14 along theline 12 and bringing them into the position shown in Fig.1jwith the flap 19 on the insidejof the fold 14: The tab 20 should be passed outthrou'gh the'slot 22 and in the solt 23 thereby holding the hod in assembled position.

The hod may be filled With a plurality of blocks 33 of confection, the blocks being red in color like ordinary bricks or taking variegated colors which areemployed in the various bricks used in building operations. A collapsible confection display device comprising a piece of sheet material having av pair of plies secured together to form the body of a miniature hod supporting device, said body being formed with a fork at its upper end and said plies being bent into a plane transverse to the body of said device at the opposite end and extending in opposite directions to form a base for the same.
