leather or any flexible composition which will adjust itself to the contour of the face about the eyes. Thereis a scallop 13 cut in in. order to allow for the adjustment over the nose. A mesh cover, such as a thin twine *netting 14, is stitched on tothe mask 10 over the holes 11 and 12 as shownat15 in Figure 4. An eyelet 16 is punched through 10 as is shown in Figure 4. Laces 17 and 18 are sewed to 10 at 19 and 20 as shown in Figure '4, and 10 is slotted at 21 and 22 to hold the laces 17 and 18, as shown in Figure 4,in order to avoid any slipping of the mask. The laces 17 and 18 are tied together at'23 just below the crown of the head, and this prevents the protector andsupport fromslipping off over the head as would be the case if the attachment was made tothe forehead and above the base of the'crown in the rear.

An elastic cord or band 24 is attached or knotted to the mask 10 through eyelet 16 at 25 as shown in Figure 2. Elastic 24 is attached to the punching bag or ball 26 by means of a tap o-r loop 27 with a holein the center 28, and knot 29. Tap 27 is sewed into the centerof aseam of the ball or bag as shown at 30 in Figure 3. By changing knot 25 the elastic member 24 may be easily and conveniently lengthened or shortened. Should the elastic member 24 break it will strike against the netting 14 which protects the eyes. Also eyelet 16 is positioned between and below the eyes.

While I have shown and described a specific construction and-while this construction is the preferred embo it will be understood that certain changes in the construction and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

Having thus described my invention what I claim and desire to obtain by Letters Patent of the United States is:

1. A device of the class described comprising a flexible member having spaced apertures, a transparent covering for said aper-' tures, means to secure said flexible member to the head of the user with said covered apertures over the eyes, a ball, and longitudinally extensible elastic means The present invention relates to exercising devices and more particularly to a support for punching or striking bags or balls.

The object in view is to provide a protector and support for a punching or striking bag which may be suspended from the face of the individual taking exercise, or playing with the punching ball, and so supported that it can be easily operated upon by the open 10 hand or fist.

Another object of the invention is to provide a support having means to protect the eyes of the operator, so that if the elastic, to which the bag or the ball is attached, should 5 happen to break, there will be no danger of injury.

Another object of the invention is the provision of an improved means for supporting a bag or ball from the face of the operator 20 in such a manner that the supporting member cannot slip off no matter how hard, or. in what direction the ball is struck.

Another object of the invention is the novel way in which the mask is constructed in order 25 to fit in closely to the contour of the face.

Still another object is the novel and simple manner in which the elastic is attached to the mask, in such a way that the knot in the elastic comes in the indentation of the nose and does 30 not press against or irritate the flesh or skin.

These and other objects of the invention, which might hereinafter appear, are realized in the improved details of construction, as will be more fully set forth in the detailed description to follow together with the accompanying drawings.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the mask protector and support together with the ball and elastic attachment.

Fig. 2 is a detailed sectional view showing the elastic knot in the rear of the mask.

Fig. 4 is a view of the rear or the reverse side of the mask and a sectional view of the supporting members.
