Any or all ofthe lines Y89, and 16, may be score lines orfcreases if the character of material used makes such score lines or creases desirable, so as to function as indicia for the proper bendingy of the strip and so as to permit use` of the defined portion V6 to attach the side walll to thebottom, wall of the box and in the` proper relationship thereto, and to permit bending of the elongation 15 for use in attaching together the ends of the wallstrips.

In the manufacture of my improved box the bottom wall is cut in the desired shape and, if desired, the Vout edge thereof may be left exposed. The bottom wall 1 may be cut in hea-rt shape, or in any other shape, to utilize the principles of the invention. I claim:

l. A box comprising a bottom wall having an exposed cut edge including a plurality of y angles, in combination with a strip forming an angular side wall, a defined portion integral with and extending laterally from the lower edge of said strip and having a pair fof abutting edge portions for each of said f angles and also having an exposed cut edge even with said cut edge of said bottom wall,

said pairs of abutting edge portions and said exposed cutedge guiding the location of said strip upon said bottom wall for attachment thereto in a relationship in which said exposed cut edges are in the same plane, and means rigidly securing said defined portion to said bottom wall in said relationship.

2. A box comprising a bottom wall having a plurality of angles on its outer edge, in combination with a strip forming a side wall rising from said bottom wall, a defined portion integral with and extending laterally from the lower edge of said strip and having a pair of abutting edge portions for each of said angles andalso having an outer edge even with said edge of said bottom wall, said pairs of abutting edge portions and said outer edge of said defined portion of said strip guiding the location of said strip upon said bottom wall for attachment thereto in a relationship in which said outer edge of said strip and said edge of said bottom wall are in the same plane, and means rigidly securing said defined portion to said bottom wall in said relationship.

A box comprising a bottom -wall having a notch in one edge formed with a sharp corner and having a sharp angular point at the edge opposite from said sharp corner; a wall forming strip bent parallel with the edge of said bottom wall and forming a wall rising from said vbottom wall; a defined portion integral with the lower edge of said strip extending laterally and having a notch extending approximately the full width of' said defined portion, said strip being bent transversely at said notch in said defined portion and opposite said notch in said 'bottom wall and the edges of said notch in said defined portion extending inwardly from the sharp corner of said notch in said bottom Wall; means securing said defined portion of said strip rigidly in connection with said bottom wall; and means securing together the ends of said strip.

A box comprising a bottom wall having in one edge a notch with a sharpcorner and having a sharp angular point at the edge opposite from said sharp corner; a wall forming strip bent parallel with the edge of said bottom wall and having its ends opposite said angular point; a defined portion integral with the lower edge of said strip extending laterally and having a notch with abutting edge portions extending inwardly Vhaving abutting end portions extending inwardly from said angular point; means securing said defined portion of said strip rigidly in connection with said bottom wall; and means securing together the ends of said strip.

The method of making a cardboard box comprising forming a cardboard bottom wall with a curved edge portion having a sharp corner notch at one side and a sharp point at the opposite side, bending laterally a defind portion of a cardboard strip having a notch intermediate of its ends extending the fullwidth of said strip; bending saidstrip and said defined portion toa `form in'` which said strip is parallel with'the edge of said bottom wall and in lwhich the edges of said notch in' said strip are in abutting contact oppositeV said notch in said bottom wall and the ends of said strip are in abutting Contact opposite said sharp point of said bottom wall and the edge of said defined portion is even with the edge of said bottom wall; and simultaneously subjecting said defined portion of said strip and the marginal portion'of said bottom wall to pressure sufficient to prevent said defined portion from tearing when said defined portion is bent with said strip as aforesaid.v
