For securely holding stockings clamps are employed, which are attached by wide-elastic bands to the corset or the like. The clamps V consist of a metal loop and of a button which is arranged on a band portion attached'to the metal loop. The attachment of the metal v k t'uted forthe 'metal loopi --f loop to the elastic band is effected by means of a metal strap, through which the elastic 1 band is threaded, the'portio'ns ofthe elastic band being connected the one with the other I by a metal fastening. In order to adapt the position of the holding clamp to the length r of the stockings, the rangeof adjustability'of the elastic bands must be correspondingly '1 large. Consequently the elastic bandsimust be of greater length.
This invention relates'to an arrangement, according to which the adaptation ofthe position of the suspender holding clamp relativeto the actual length of the stockingis effected owing to a novel construction and movable arrangement of theholding clamp parts. The characteristic feature of the invention consists in that the cooperating &5 clamping means arev shiftably and 'fixably arranged on a narrow band. The band isthen the like in a suitable manner; i
The advantage attained according to the fixed in turn to the corset, suspender, belt or,
" invention consists substantially in a consider-.
' able saving in wide elastic band. This saving is of considerable economical importance as the elastic band is'comparatively expend sive. A further advantage-is, that the narrow band shows less underthe clothing than the wide double elastic band. Further fewer metal fastening parts are employed. Thus, a further saving in expenses is obtained. The
reduction of the metal parts is also preferred 3415 by the wearer, as the suspenders are conse- 7 quently not so troublesome.- r
- V Theconstruction of the cooperating clampa 'ing parts may beselected asidesired accord- J ing to the invention." As a rule the one part isrformed by the known'button, whereas .the
fp rovidedzon the clamping-bar.
other" z 'arti maybe a metal" loop, fixed *on'a' i" V shiftabl'e andgfixable slide; The metal loop may be rigiclly connectedto the'cl'ampingibar Y of the slide or 'oscill'atably mounted on a bar 1 A hand with a buttonhole may ing-the band and both arms-'havingoppo 7 sitely situated recesses andprojectionsgfor clamping theband, whereas the a-rms areheld in theglocking position means of a slide.
{The-button, serving as counter element for 1 ithe meta-lloop, is shiftablyjfi'xed on the band bymean's 'ofa slotted plate so'tlr at the button can be adapted to the actual position of-the" V metal-loop. v
Consequently, to the invention, 6 5 besides a conside'rable' shortening of the elas- V tic-band, only a spring clamping fastening is 1 necessary; for; the metal loop, whereas in the known. constructionsa spring clamping fas-: Y
tening for the elastic-band and also a fas'ten- 7o 7 ing eye for themetal'loop andfurther a bandf fasteningfor the button were necessary. I r Two I embodimentsof the invention are illustrated by way of example in'=the'a'ccompanyingdrahingsfln which:

Figs. '3 to 5 -show afurther form 'oficonstruction' of the Suspender inopen position @Q for shifting;and'in 'position fo r'use. r
i For attaching the stockingsuspender a" narrowiband 1 is provided, which israrranged on a short elastic band 2 onthe edge3; of .a;
corset-, belt or thelike; The-bandlis preferablyintlie form of a loop, the'lower portion of the band serving for covering; the, metal 1 parts, relative to; Qthe body. ,The 1 stocking:
holding device consistsof a metal;loop4,'-,os-' cillatably attache t a sl e .5-i-n-The metal loop 4: has a web 6, by means of which the band 1 is clamped when the loop 4: is lowered. The metal loop 4 can consequently, when it is in the lifted position, be shifted as desired, on the band 1 and consequently brought into the position required for the actual length of the stocking. At the same time the button 7 for the fastening of the stocking is shiftable on the band 1 in that the button 7 has a base plate 9, provided with two slots 8 for pulling through the band. The button can thus be brought into the proper position relative to the loop 4.
According to Figs. 8 to the slide of the metal loop A is formed by two resilient arms 10. The band 1 beingin'serted through a slot 11 in the upper arm 100 so that it comes to lie between both arms. The metal loop l is arranged on the upper arm a and may be rigidly connected to this arm 10a or hingedly connected thereto. In the arms 10 andlOa oppositely situated projections 12 and'recesses 13 are provided, and on the upper arm 10a raised, preferably wedge-shaped webs 14 are arranged. By means of a slide 15, which can be shifted over the resilient arms 10, 100;, these latter are pressed togetherso that; the
