A further object of tl1e invention is to pro vide an apparatus of the class aforesaid,
which is thoroughly eflicient in use, simple in construction, strong, durable, comparatively inexpensive to manufacture and easy to op erate. i a

Seated on the cover 11 is" an insulating member 15,fupon which is seated 'a receptacle 1 16 which is .1 formed with a vertical, annular partition 17 76 whereby the interior "of the receptacle :16ifis divided intoan inner compartment 18 and an outer-compartment 19. Opening'through the cover 11 is a tube 20 which extendsupwardly from the cover throughthe insulating 'ele- 7 5 ment15'and-receptacle16.

The discharge pipe 57 extends downwardly for connection with a receiver 58 for the pure water drawn from the cup 47 and is provided adjacent its lower end with a trap 59. The receiver 58 is provided with a faucet 60 which is disposed above the horizontal plane of the outlet for the pipe 57 in order thatthe level of the water within the receiver 58 may be maintained above the outlet for the discharge pipe 57 Adjacent the bottom thereof, the receiver 58 is provided with a drain 61 which is located below the'horizontal plane of the outlet for the discharge pipe 57. The formation of the cooling tank as show in Figure 2 is designed toprovide greater area for air contact than would be provided by a cylindrical cooling tank, which more rapidly expels any possible heat which may have been absorbed by the water in cooling tank from the vapor collecting in the condenser. The periphery of the cooling tank is, in the formation indicated, intended to provide a more extended surface for contact with the atmosphere. The periphery of the condenser, in the formation shown, is intended to provide a more extended surface for contact with the invention will be readilyia'pparent, and although the preferred embodiments of the inill vention are as illustrated and described, it is to be understood that various changes in the details of construction may be resorted to, so long as such changes fall within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims. 7
What I claim is: j r
1. A distilling apparatus comprising, an open top boiler, a removable insulated cover closing the open top of the boiler, a relatively small vapor tube extending through and upwardly from the insulated cover centrally of the latter, a removable open bottom condenser arranged concentrically of the tube with the lower endthereof disposed a material distance above the upper end of the boiler, said tube terminating adjacent the lower end of the condenser, a cooling tank encircling the condenser above said tube and seated on the cover, a relatively small vapor tube extending through and upwardl' from the cover and block centrally thereo a removable open bottom condenser arranged tank and adapted to overflow into said outer in communication with the open bottom of the condenser to receive the condensate formed therein.
3. A distilling'apparatus comprising, an
open top boiler, a removable insulated cover for the open top of the boiler, an upwardly and outwardly flaring boss formed centrally of the insulated cover and formed in its up per face withan annular groove, a relatively compartment, said inner compartment being small vapor tube extending through the cover and boss and projecting above the latter, an open bottom condenser seated in said groove, said boss having its upper face concaved inwardly of said groove to receive the condensate from the condenser,a cooling tank encircling'the condenser above said tube and adapted to overflow at its top, and a receptacle seated on the insulation of said-cover for receiving theoverflow from the cooling tank.
