The present invention relates tosmokers appliances and the primary object of the invention is to provide a match container for tainer of novel construction whereby the matches are so retained asto be easily dis A further object is to provide a device of this character which is of such simple construction as to permit economical manufacture thereof and thus readily associated with pocket size tins of tobacco without ob ectionably increasing the cost thereof.

Referring now to the container B, the same is intended to be arranged inthe receptacle A to provide a tobacco compartment 9 and a match compartment 10. v The container B is preferablymade from sheet metal similar to that of which the receptacle A is made and comprises an elongated channelshaped body portion 12 providing a web portion 13 and side flanges 14:. The web portion 13 is of a width equal to the spacing between the receptacle walls 5 and of a length slightly less than the receptacle A. When the container B is inserted into the receptacle A, with the flanges let'extending into one vof the rounded ends 6,.the web portion. 13 forms a partition wall defining the Ininorsemi-circular shaped compartment10 forreceiving the matches 15 and the major compartment 9 for receiving the tobacco package 16.

The side flanges flange 21 and seals the match compartment from the tobacco compartment so that moisture from the tobacco will not enter the match compartment nor any odor of the matches enter the tobacco compartment.

Provided at the upper end of each flange 14 is an arcu'ate shaped wing '22 and these wings are preferabl slightlylonger than the flanges l4 and co-act with the top flange to form retaining-means for a substantially semi-circular shaped retainer plate 24 serving as a closure for the upper .en'd of the match compartment 10. In a match container for the purpose de scribed, a channel shaped body portion pro- 7 viding a web and side flanges, a top flange bent inwardly from the upper end of the web, a retaining plate held beneath the top flange and having a notch in its outer edge, a separator plate secured to the side flanges midway the ends of the body portion, and having a notch in its outer edge, and an attaching tongue extending from the lower end of the web.

In a match container for the. purpose described, a channel shaped body portion providing a web and side flanges, a top flange bent inwardly from the upper end of the web, a semi-circular shaped retaining plate held beneath the top flangeand having a notch provided at the center of its rounded edge, a semi-circular shaped separator plate mounted midway the ends of the body portion and having a notch in the center of its rounded edge, a sealing flange extending upwardly from the top flange, and an attaching tongue at the lower end of the body portion.

In a match container for the purpose described, a channel shaped body portion 1 provldlng a web and slde flanges, a top flange bent. inwardly from the upper end ofthe web, a semi-circular shaped retaining plate held beneath the top flange and having a notch provided at the center of its rounded edge, a semi-circular shaped separator plate mounted midway the ends of the body portion and having a notch in the center of its rounded edge, a sealing flange bent upwardly at an angle from the inner edge of the top flange, and a bendable securing tongue extending from the lower end ofthe web.

Inamatch container for the purpose described, a channel shaped body providing a web portion and side flanges, said flanges being transversely curved inwardly, a top flange bent inwardly from the upper end of the Web portion, a sealing flange projecting upwardly from the top flange, a semicircular shaped retaining flange arrangedbe-
