The present invention relates to improvements in window sash locks and has for an object the provision of a device of this character so constructed that it will permit the upper and lower sashes of a window to be interlocked whereby the respective sashes may be partially opened and locked without any fear of intruders being at liberty to and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which: 7

Referring to the drawings in detail, the

The present emb penedby persons outside has been described in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplification since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description.
It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the comb-ination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
A window sash lock of the character described comprising a casing mounted in an upper sash and having a keyhole therein, said casing being further provided with a bolt receiving opening beneath the keyhole, a partition in the casing above the bolt receiving opening, said partition having an opening therein, a vertically disposed block mount-en the casing on the partition having a socket therein in alignment with the keyhole, a bolt slidably mounted in the lower sash and operable through the bolt receiving opening in the casing, a head on the inner end of the bolt having an opening therein registerahle with the opening' in the partition, a bolt mounted in the casing and slidable through the part tion opening for engas'enien in the head opening in a manner to retain said head in the casing, a frame on one end oi. the second named bolt for operative engagement by an actuating key for withdrawing the second named bolt from the lead opening, the key being insertibie in the casing through the keyhole and ro-tatably engageable in the socket in the block for support thereby, and a spring connected to the second named bolt for yieldingly urging same toward its operative position.
