Serial No. 252,867.
This invention relates toY a discharging connected to the end of the other arm m of closure on mixers, stirring machines, mortar mills, slowly rotating cylinders and the like for masses oi any kind, especially for ceramic masses, in which in the bottom of the mixing drum an aperture is arranged for which a closing piece moved like a slide and adapted to be raised and lowered is mounted. Stirring devices which move directly over the platei0 like bottom push the material towards the aperture in the bottom through which it drops into a truck placed underneath.`
The closing cover together with a mechanism for adjusting in vertical directions might further be arranged in at casing suspended on 'a pivot pin underneath the mixing drum so that it can be oscillated in horizontal direction. The oscillatable arm has means and arrangements which permit of rapidly moving the closing coveivupwardand downward by one single manipulation and to bring the whole by a lateral pressure out of the area of the discharging aperture.
A form of construction of the machine is shown, by way of example, in the accompanyin g drawing, in which:

2. A discharging closure for mixing machines, stirring machines, mortar millsk or the like for masses of any kind, consisting of,
a closing cover underneath the discharging aperture in the bottom plate of the machine,
` a guide stud fixed onthe lower surface of said closing cover, a sleeve in which said guide stud is located, an oscillata'ble casing in which said sleeve is mounted, and meansv for raising and lowering said closing cover, said `means consisting of an elbow lever pivotally mounted in said casing one arm of said elbow lever engaging with said sleeve, a connecting rod hingedly connected to the other arm of said elbow lever, a screw spindleA forming part of said connecting rod, an internally threaded sleeve on said screw spindle, and a crank handle for rotating said sleeve.
3. A discharge closure for bottom discharge mixing machines, consisting of a closing cover underneath the discharge aperture in the bottom of the machine, a vertically oscillatable stud on which said cover is mounted, a sleeve in which said stud is mounted to rotate, laterally oscillatable means in which said sleeve is mounted for vertical movement,
'a connecting rod, means operated by reciprocation of said rod to raise and lower said sleeve,'and a manually operated deviceV mounted on the laterally oscillatable means to reciprocate said rod to raise and lower said sleeve to open and close the cover While permitting its rotation.
