Description

July 9, 1929. VANDER LEUN 1.720.581
TOILET SEAT COVER Filed March 26, 1928 J1. J7 Vanderll un ATTORNEY Patented July 9, 1929.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
TOILET-SEAT COVER.
Application filed March 26, 1928.
This invention relates to a toilet seat cover, the general object of the invention being to make the cover so that it will conform to the shape of a seat having an opening at its front,
5 with a narrow strip connecting the outer edges of the ends of the cover together so that the strip tends to hold the parts of the cover in position while the cover is on the seat.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in tl e appended claim.
in describing my invention in detail, reference will be llitfl to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the sev- 20 eral views, and in which Figure l is a. front view of a plurality of covers fastened together in the form of a pad.
Figure 2 is an edge view of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a view of one of the covers detached from its tab.
Figure 4 is a section on line 4-4 of Figure 3.
As shown in these views, each cover 1 is of a shape to engage the upper surface of a toilet seat, with its front ends spaced apart. The parts of the cover are of concavo-convex shape in cross section, as shown in Figure 4, with the outer edge extending below the inner edge, as shown in Figure The front ends of the cover are connected together by a strip 2 which holds said ends in alignment with each other and thus facilitates the handling Serial No. 264,867.
of the cover and the placing thereof on a seat.
A tab 3 is fastened to the rear end of the cover by av pair of strips 4, each strip having a weakened line 5 intermediate its ends so that the cover can be readily detached from the tab. These tabs enable a plurality of the covers to be fastened together in the form of a pad by passing staples 6 or the like through the tabs, as shown in Figures 1 and 2. Each tab has a centrally arranged hole 7 therein so that the pad can be hung on a nail or other suspending means, as shown at 8 in Figure 2.
From the foregoing itwill be seen that I have provided a sanitary cover for a toilet seat which may be fastened together in the form of a pad and in which the covers can be readily detached from the pad through means of the weakened lines 5 in the strips 4 which connect the covers with the tabs.
It is thought from the foregoing description that. the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
\Vhat I claim is A toilet seatcover made of paper and formed to fit a seat with its front ends spaced apart, a narrow strip connecting the outer edges of the ends together, said strip having its faces lying in a vertical plane whereby it leaves the opening between the ends of the seat unobstructed.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
