This invention relates particularlyv to a water proof casing shaped to fit the chin and jaw of the human head and which is adapted to be filled with crushed ice or a warm fluid to apply a cold or hot temperature to the facial muscles and skin adjacent the chin and jaw.

An object of the invention is to provide a facial ice-pack device shaped to conform to the contour of the chin and jaw, and adapted to be filled with crushedice to apply the ice application directly onto all parts of the face, covered by the device.

A further object of the invention is to provide a facial ice pack casing adapted to contain ice, having the side thereof that contacts with the face adapted to snugly engage therewith and not ,to bulge away therefrom, the outer wall of the casing being so constructed that the bulges and irregularities in the ice will force the outer part of the casing outward away from the face without affecting the placement of the inner wall of the casing.

Other objects of the invention are to provide a facial ice pack casing that will be superior in point of simplicity, inexpensiveness of construction, positiveness of operation, and facility and convenience in use and general efficiency.

In this specification and the annexed drawings, the invention is illustrated in the form considered to be the best, but it is to be understood that the invention is not lim ited to such form, because it may be em bodied in other forms, and it is also to be understood that in and by the claims following the description, it is desired to cover the invention in whatsoever form it may be embodied.

In the accompanying one sheet of drawings Fig. 1 is a perspective view of my fluid casing applied in operative position to the head of a wearer.

The width of the inner wall 1 is predetermined,.andsaid wall is so shaped that it will snugly engage around the chin and jaw of a human head. An outer wall 3 is secured along its periinetral edges 4 to the edges of the inner wall. The outer wall 3 is of greater width than the inner wall, as shown in Fig. 5, so that when the casing is in an empty or collapsed condition, the outer wall will tend to sag with respect to the inner wall. By making the outer wall 3 of greater width than the inner wall 1,

the warming or the chilling medium that is introducedinto the casing will cause the said. outer wall 3 to be expanded away from the inner wall 1, without causing the inner wall to be lifted away from contact with the face.

The casing is arranged on the head by placing the moulded depression 2 on the inner wall 1 around the chin and then wrapping the two opposite ends 5 and 6 of the casing around so as to cover the jaw. This placement of the casing thus positions it to apply heat or cold to the facial muscles desired to be strengthened or to the skin covering the chin and jaw. Each of the opposite ends of the casing are connected to gether by a strap 7, which is passed over the top of the head of the wearer, thus providing a simple and effective means for holding the casing on the head.

The outer wall?) of the casing at a. point approximately underneath the chin is provided with a port 8 therein closed by a removable cap 9. Cracked ice or a warming fluid is introduced through the capped port 8 into the interior of the casing and the filling medium is drained from the casing through the same port. I11 Fig. 3 I have shown the relative positions of the capped port 8 and the chin and I have also in dicated the approximate position, of the chin with respect to the cavity 2 provided on the inner wall 1, which is shaped to receive the chin. By shaping the inner wall 1 which comes in contact with the skin around the jaw and chin, to the contour of the chin, it enables the casing to be held close to the face and the outer wall, which is of greater width than the inner wall, will expand or bulge when filled with the heating or cooling medium without causing the inner wall to be bulged or distorted from its selected position on the head.

Having thus described this intention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1, A casing formed of waterproof material and having means therein through which ice can be introduced into the interior thereof, said casing having one side thereof shaped to [it the contour of the chin and jaw of a human head and the opposite side expansible to accomn'iodate the ice; and means secured to the opposite ends of said casing to hold said casing in a sclected'position on the chin and jaw.

2. A casing of waterproof material, comprised of: two sheets secured together along their outer edges one sheet being of greater width than the other and having means therein through which ice can be introduced into the casing formed of the two sheets, the

sheet of lesser width being moulded to iit the contour of the chin and jaw; and means secured to the opposite ends of said casing to hold said casing in a selected position on the chin and jaw.

3. A flexible fluid container formed of two sheets of crescent-shaped, waterproo'fed material joined togetheralong the perimetral edges, one sheet being shaped to con form to the contour of the chin and jaw and the other sheet being of greater width than the first mentioned sheet to accommodate the fluid without distorting the shape of said first mentioned sheet; means in the larger sheet through which fluid can be introduced into the casing, and means secured to the opposite ends of said casing'to hold said casing in a selected position on the chin and jaw.

4. A flexible fluid container formed of two sheets of crescentesliaped waterprooied material joined together along the perimetral edges, one sheet being shaped to conform to the contour of the chin and jaw and the other sheet being of greater width than the first mentioned sheet to accommodate the fluid without distorting the shape of said first mentioned sheet; a removable plug in the larger sheet through which fluid can be introduced into the casing; and means secured to the opposite ends of said casing to hold said casing in a selected position on the chin and jaw.
