This inventionrelates to window platforms used for cleaning,painting, repairing or other uses, and comprises all improve ments over the prior art which aredisclosed in this application. Some objects are to form which will be'readily usable on different buildings with a minimum of adjust ment, which will bereliablastrong, of minimum weight and firmly placed in use, and
which can be "shifted from window to winuseful improvements as disclosed in this application; To enable others skilled in the art to fully understand the essential features of the improvements, drawings have been annexed as a part of this disclosure.

Fig. 2 is a right end View of Fig. 1.
The particular embodiment of the invention which is herein disclosed for illustrative purposes, comprises a supporting frame preferably consisting of two pairs of paralel T-iron members 1 which may be integral at one end 2 and connected a-t the other end by plates 3. The lower members 1 rest upon window frame 1. Each bracket plate 6 may consist of sheet metal folded to form a portion of a hinge 7 and secured on opposite sides of flanges 8 of members 1 by rivets 5. Each bracket 9 is of sheet metal and folded to complete the hinge 7 and has its two portions riveted together atlO. Laterally bent flanges 11 form a supporting foot means 12 which slopes upwardly and inwardly toward the interior of the building and is adapted to rest on the extreme outer portion of window sill 18. The lower portion of bracket 9 has flanges 14 adapted to engage against the outer surface of the wall of building 15.
Each clamp member 16 may comprise two pieces of sheet metal slidably engaging the opposite sides of flanges 8 of members 1 and connected together by rivets 17. Screw 18 rotates in a shaped socket 19 formed between the sheets of bracket plate 6 and in a hole formed between plates 3, beingheld against longitudinal movement by collars 20, 20 on opposite side of plates 3. A cut out 21 in clamp member 16 is occupied by nut 22 threaded on screw 18 and the nut is held against rotation by "engagement of its angusurface 24 anda vertical flangedclamping surface 25.
A folding metal frame back 29 which may be folded down as indicated in dotted lines, preferably has canvas sides 31 and back 32 with any desired number and size of pockets 33for holding cleaning materials, tools, etc. If desired, such surfaces of the device as are to come into contact with the parts of a building may be covered with rubber or felt.
Operation: The lower members 1 are rested on window frame 4. The brackets 9 are swung down as indicated by dotted line 34 '(Fig. 2) from folded position to their vertical position as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and the screws 18 are turned to force clamp members 16 against the inside structure of the building until supporting feet 12 properly engage window sill 13. Folding back 29 is opened up and the device is ready for use. In some buildings surface 24: will engage the inner lower edge of the window frame 4 as shown. In other cases surface 25 will be the engaging surface. As parts 12 rest firmly upon the outer edge of window sill 13, the device is firmly supported at a maximum distance out, thus reducing springing and breaking stresses upon the device to a minimum and permitting the use of relatively light weight construction materials. It is also to be noted that as brackets 9 are non-adjustable longitudinally of members 1, the device always projects out of a building a fixed or set distance, irrespective of different thicknesses of building walls. Therefore the fulcrum of parts 12 on the window sill 13 is always} constant and the platform Will support its maximum weight on any thickness of window sill or ledge. After having adjusted clamp members 16 for Thus asscrew 18 is rotated by c Clamp member 16 has an up a Window of a given building, the windows being all alike, to then shift the device from one window to another it is merely necessary to grasp the frame on opposite sides with both hands at and tilt it upward and inward sufficiently so that brackets 9 can be folded up to clear sill 13 when the device can be drawn in sufficient to clear clamp members 16 from the inner wall structure of the building. The device is then placed out through another window opening and while tilted and with clamp members 16 engaged against the inner Wall structure, the brackets 9 are swung down to vertical position and the device is permitted to properly locate itself, which it does without requiring any adjustment.
All changes which properly come within the spirit and range of equivalency of the following claims are intended to be embraced within the scope of the claims.
I claim:
1. A window latform including, a supporting frame a apted to extend through a window opening and rest upon a window frame, said supporting frame including substantially parallel members arranged in spaced relatlon one above another, sald upper and lower members each-having a guide flange extending toward eaclrother, sup porting means secured to said supporting frame and adapted to engage the outer portion of a building, and anchoring means slidably engaging said guide flanges and adapted to be adjusted longitudinally thereof and engage the inner portion of a building.
2. The window platform of claim 1 in which the anchoring means slidably engages the opposite sides of the guide flanges.
3. The window platform of claim. 1 in which the anchoring means includes two sheet metal pieces which slidably engage the opposite sides of the guide flanges.
4. The window platform of claim 1 in which the supporting means includes two sheet metal pieces which span and are secured to, opposite sides of the upper and lower guide flanges.
