Another object of the invention is to provide latch means for holding the shade retaining bracket in adjusted position on the main bracket.

This invention also consists in certain other, features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

As shown in these views, the device comprises a main bracket A and a shade retaining bracket B, it being understood that one of the brackets A is placed at each upper cornerof a Window or other frame, as shown in Figure 1, while one of the brackets B would be formed with a pintle receiving opening, as shown in Figure a, and the other one with a slot to receive the other pintle of a shade roller.

Each bracket A is formed of a plate 1 which has rounded ends and intermediate its ends the edges of the plate are formed with extensions which are bent over twice at rightangles to provide the guides 2, the lower guide being provided with the notches 3 which form keepers for a latch member on the bracket B. The ends of the plate 1 are formed with the holes 4 for receiving screws or other fastening means which fasten the bracket to the frame.

The bracket 13 is provided with a flat base 5 which has its ends adapted to slide in the guides 2. A latch lever 6 is pivoted to the bracket 13 and is adapted to engage one of the notches 3 to hold the bracket B in adj usted position on the plate 1. The lever 6 is provided with a cam part 7 at its short end and with a projection 8 on its long end, the cam' part 7 being adapted to engage the outer face of the plate 1 when the lever is in locking position so as to frictionally hold the lever against outward or unlocking movement. The projections acts as an abutment to receive the point of a tool which may be used to turn the lever to releasing position. This turning movement causes the cam part to press the plate 1 slightl away from the pivotal point of the lever to permit the cam part to pass it.

From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided simple means for enabling the brackets to be adjusted to suit different lengths of shade rollers without necessitating the unscrewing or unfastening 0f the brackets from a window frame and putting them at a new place on the frame which not only takes time but mars the frame. lVith this device, the shade retaining bracket can be easily and quickly adjusted to a new position in the guides 2 of the bracket A and then looked in said position by the lever 6.

.It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.

I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the con binat-ion and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.

Vfhat I claim is 1. A device of the class described comprising a main bracket having guides thereon, one of the guides having notches therein, a roller retaining bracket having a base sliding in the guides, a latch lever on the roller bracket adapted to engage one of the notches to hold the roller bracket in adjusted position, said latch lever having a cam part at its short end for frictionally engaging the base of the main bracket to hold the latch lever in looking position.
