IMPROVEMENT IN LAMP-BRACKETS FOR SEWING-MACHINE TABLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 179,571, dated July 4, 1876; application filed May 16, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK T. KNAUSS, of Scranton, in the county of Luzerne and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Lam p-Holding Attachment for Sewing- Machines, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of a folding lampstand, arranged-so as to be vertically adjustable ona bracket, which is to be attached to the se'wingmachine table by screwing onto the under side. The object of folding the stand is to dispose of iteolnpactly when not in use.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of my improved lamp-holding attachment. Fig. 2 is a sectional elevation taken on line as m, Fig. l; and Fig. 3 is a horizontal section on line 3 3 Fig. 2.
A is the top, and B the vertical part, of the bracket, to be attached to the sewing-machine table (J,'(dotted,) as indicated by the screws 1). E is the top, and F the vertical part, of the lamp-stand, which are fitted to the bracket in a groove, so as to slide up and down freely, to be fastened at any required height by the cla1np-screwG.. H is a jointin the stand-top, to allow it to fold down out of the way, and I is a foldingbrace, to hold the table up or let it down, at will.
The attachment may be screwed onto the table of the sewing-machine in any convenient place.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The improved lamp-holding attachment for sewing-machines, consisting of the bracket A B, having a vertical groove and a clamp-screw, and the folding table E, folding brace I, and the vertical piece F, the latter being fitted in the groove ot' the bracket, and all combined and arranged substantially as'specified.
FRANK T. KNAUSS.
