Said socket 43 is preferably adapted for attachment to a plug similar to plug 40, for a'purpose hereinafter appearing.
The numeral 50 designatesa device (the lower portion thereof only, being shown in Fig. 1) similar to device 10. This outfit 50 is shown with the screw plug attachment ll removed, the blade plug 51, similar to plug 40, being receivable in socket 4:3 for connecting said device 50 in parallel circuit to device 10. Said device 50 is also provided with a socket 52 similar to socket 43. It is thus apparent that a number of said units 10, 50 may be connected to a single power source to produce a series of electric Christmas candles in parallel relation. All of the lamps 25 in such a series of candles will have similar voltages and will consequently be of equal brightness when illuminated. Said units may be placed in different parts of a room, being movable relatively to one another and connectedby the flexible cable 36.
It will thus be seen that there is provided a device in which the several-objects of this invention are achieved, and which is well adapted to meet the conditions of practical use.
As various possible embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in embodiment set forth, it is to be understood that allmatter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawing is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
Having. thus described :my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters 1. In a device ofthe character described, a base having an opening in the top surface thereof, a pair of passages extending thru said base on opposite sides thereof and communicatin with said opening, a socket supporting tu ular member mounted on said base and having a portion received in said opening, a' socket mounted in said supporting member, conductors within said passages extendmg from said base, leads within said tubular member connecting said conductors to said socket, a plug device connected to said conductors extending through one ofsaid passages, and a socket device'connected to saidconductors extending thru another. of said passages.
2. In a devlce of the character described,
a base havingan opening in the top surface lower end of said member abutting said bottom wall and provided with out out portions reg istering withsaid passages, alamp socket mounted in said tubular member at the upper end thereof, conductors extending thru said chamber and passages, and leads within said tubular member connecting said socket to said conductors.
3. In a device of the character described, a base having an opening-in the top surface thereof forming a chamber having a bottom wall, aligned passages within said base communicating with said chamber, a: tubular member inserted within said opening, the lower end of said member abutting said bottom wall and provided with cut out portions registering with said passages, a lamp socket mounted in said tubular member at the upper end thereof, conductors extending thru said chamber and passages, and leads within said tubular member connecting said socketto said conductors, said conductors being connected to a plug member and a socket member at the opposite ends thereof.
