occupying the button holes 14 in Fig. 1 to complete the closure of the front of the garment.
As shown in Fig; 2 the lower or skirt portion of the garment at the rear thereof is provided with the central slit 16 arranged to be held in the closed position by the buttons 17 manner the garment may be on denoted by like reference numerals through- Fig. 8 shows a front view of the garment Referring more particularly to the draw ing 10 designates generally the waist portion of the garn'ient having the neck opening 11 at one side of the slit occupying the button holes 18 at the opposite side of said slit. Along the lower edge of the garment are provided buttonyholes 19 adapted to engage a horizontalrow of buttons 20 placed about the waist portion of the garment when the lower portion of the skirt is folded up in the manner indicated in Fig. 4. r
In the use of the improved garment, Figs.

The entire front of the garment may be opened out by disengaging the buttons 15 from the button holes 14 illustrated in Fig. 1. In this readily slipped The buttons 15 are afterwards reengaged with the button holes 14 to close the front of the garment about the wearer. If desired,
a loose belt maybe employed. about the waist. Furthermore, the garment may be embellished with a permanent belt extending k 9 about the waist and hip line.
'In Fig. 3 the garment is shown as taking the form of pajamas. To secure this result, the buttons 17 at the rear are disengaged from the button holes 18, permitting ofthe Opening of the rear slit l6. F as similar distance at the front" of. the .gar ment the buttons 15 are disengaged :from the button holes 14. The lower skirt part is in this mannerreduced to a bifurcated garment', and by engaging the rear buttons 17 with the front button holes 14 and the front buttons 15 withtherear button holes 18, a trouser or pajama effect may be secured.
The garment is also convertible for street n use as a dress and 111 so doing it takes the attractive form shown in Fig. 4. In Fig. 2 I have indicated the horizontal dotted line 21 about which the lower skirt portion may be folded upwardly and outwardly of the A upper skirt portion to bring the button holes 19 along the lower edge of the garment into alignment with the horizontal row of buttons 20 about the Waist portion of the garment.
