The spring is connected forwardly to an eye bolt 55, thespring being designated 7 i 56,'and.extending rearwardly and upwardly as the arrangement is shown in the draw-i ings,-this spring having connection at the rear portion thereof with a'flexible device or 7 cable 57 passing over a tension pulley or the like 58. The cable57 extends thence in a downward directiomand is connected with the lower horizontal tiltable frame including elements 15, by means of any suitable device such as that shown in Figure 3 and designated 59. ' In order to adjust the pulley 58, we provide particular mounting means including a bracket, U-hanger or the like designated 60, and having connecte'dtherewith an eye member 61 which is engaged by an eye portion 62 on the lower end of screw 63. This screw passes-thru astationary bracket 64, and the screw is surrounded by a spring 65, posi-' tioned above the bracket 64, and between the latter, and the hub portion of thehand wheel 66 having threaded connection withthe screw 63.; Adjustment is thereby secured in an: obvious manner, and the device just referred to will be within reach of the operator.
In order to disclose a completemaohine we have also shownahand operated device for 1 controlling the tiltingor leaning movement of the front wheels. A crank 70 is carried by 'one end of shaft or the like 71, and extends forwardly to point 72, where it has or will have operative connection with the mechanism shown conventionally at 19 for controlling the leaning movement of the front wheels. This mechanism thus controlling the wheels is described in the aforesaid pending application, Serial No. 290,772, filed September 6, 1929. Provisionis made for a similar ,leaning wheel movement'at the.rear of the machine, and the construction is employed for preventing side-wise movement of the machine when the latter is operated on transverse grades or sloping ground.
