The invention relates to a hosiery display device.

One of the objects of the invention is to provide a device of the utmost simplicity which will display hose in an efficient and artistic manner in store windows, on counters, tables or other places.

A further object is to provide a hosiery display device in which the sheer and color of the hose may be displayed to the best advantage.

Still another object is to provide a display device which will occupy a minimum amount of space in a store window or any place where the device is used.

Further objects and advantages will become apparent as this specification proceeds. Referring to the drawings forming a part thereof and in which a preferred embodiment of the invent-ion is illustrated:

Silk hosiery is in practically universal use at the present time. It is a matter of vital importance to the merchant to display the hose in a manner so as to bring out the delicate colors and sheer. Itis desirable to have this display attractive and pleasing and one that will readily catch the eye of the public.

A rigid flat frame of this description having the hose tightly stretched across it makes for a very, pleasing effect when displayed.

Any suitable means could be utilized for supporting it or the lower part of the member 6 might be somewhat broadened so as to act as a support.

However, it is preferable to supply a base for supporting the device. The base might be of any form or shape and means for securing the member 6 to the base might be widely varied. One simple means of accomplishing this is illustrated. The member 6 may be provided with a pair of pins or projections 15 which engage suitable apertures 16 in the base 7.

From the foregoing, it is thought to be apparent that a simple and effective hosiery display device is provided. Due to its simplicity the device may be economically manufactured and sold to the trade at a reasonable price. It forms a pleasing and attractive display and occupies very little window or counter space as compared with solid forms or complete figures. Naturally this is a great asset.

Applicant is aware that many forms of devices for stretching and drying hose have been devised. He is also aware that numerous solid forms or shapes have been in use for displaying hosiery but he believes it to be new and novel with him to provide a rigid flat frame over which the hose is tautly stretched and a member simulating a shoe which cooperates with the frame.

By altering the dimensions of the frame the device might readily be used for display ing mens or childrens hose. Other changes might be made in details of construction and will be considered as coming within the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended claims. j I claim:

1. A hosiery display device having in combination, a flat frame over which the hose is tautly stretched, said frame being shaped to represent a leg and foot, and a substantially flat member simulating a shoe, said member being longitudinally slotted substantially eoextensive with its length, said slot having parallel sides to engage the foot portion of said frame, said display frame and said member simulating a shoe both being 111 substantially the same plane.

2. A hosiery display device comprising a rigid flat frame over which the hosemay be taut-1y stretched, said frame being shaped to represent a foot and leg, a'member simulating a shoe, said member being slotted to engage the foot portion of said frame and having a plurality of projections, and a base 7 having a plurality of apertures, the projections on said member simulating a foot eo-- operating with the apertures in said base so as to support the display device in an upright position.
