My invention relate to the art of illumination and particularly to lighting fixtures employing a reflector and diffusion bowl, and has for its object to provide a simple, strong,

This invention is a modification of the invention disclosed in my Patent No. 1,663,653, issued to me by the United States on the 27th 15 day of March, 1928.
My invention consists of certain details of construction hereinafter set forth, pointed out in my claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which,

Referring to the accompanying drawings the reference numeral 10 is'used to indicate a reflector, preferably substantially flat on its reflecting surface, and the numeral 11 indicates a bowl to be attached to the reflector; The bowl I employ is of the usual type with a lip 12 moulded on its upper extremity, the lip flaring outwardly asshown. Obviously the openingat the upper part of the bowl is circular in conformation. outwardly to the side of the reflector 10, thence curves upwardly and rearwardly, passing through the orifice 17 in the reflector 10 and terminating in a shaft 18, provided with a pin 20, the shaft passing through an orifice in a bracket 22 rigidly afiixed to the upper surface of the reflector 10. 'A coil spring 21 surrounds the shaft 18, its outer end abutting against the inner surface o-f-the bracket 22', and-its other end abutting against 4 a pin 20 secured to the shaft 18, as shown.
The construction of the clip 15, and its mounting as described, is such that the clip is normally held at its inner position by the tension of the spring 21, but can be forced, in a slidable motion, longitudinally, outwardly, against the compression of the spring.
In practical operation a bowl 11 being deto the reflector 10, the lip of the bowl is inserted between the lower surface of the reflector and the clip 15. Pressure is then put upon the bowl to force the clip 15 outwardly until the bowl has reached a position where the lip will be permitted to come in complete contact with the lower surface of the reflector, it having passed the points where the lugs 13 and 1 1 would interfere with this. The bowl is then moved until the lip is flush with the reflector and the pressure on V the bowl is then removed, the tension of the spring being sufficient to force the clip'15 inwardly thereby seating the lip of the bowl between the clips 13 and 14: and the under surface of the reflector.
