Renewed November 6, 1929 The invention relates to receptacles and the one of the bottom plates in a smaller scale especial receptacle forming the object of the than in Figures 1 and 2., e I present inventionis intended to receive and Figure 4 is alview of the bottom carrying store blades for safety razors. a locking slide and Figure 5' is a section on 5 It is a well known fact that razors which line 5-5 of Figure 4. I 55 are being used every day will not last very V The receptacle consists of ahousing having long even when they are strapped before betwo box shaped parts 6 and 7 respectively, ing used. On the other hand it is well known two bottom plates 8 and 9 resp f fi y, w that steel tools after being used for some slldingplates 10 and 11 respectively, two

'a QIigit dina sectieathreug .eed' a fing r pie e 2 W iiehgw ea he sl d ng 1 blades to be used on top and the dull blades, likeh bottom plate is r g a 8 45 In the drawings Figure 1' is a vertical seccenter line of said plate and at equal dis- 5 7 plate is in position, is adapted to extend through a slot like opening 24 provided in one of the end walls 16 of each housing part. Fig. 1 shows very plainly that the two finger parts extend into the opposite directions. The slide plate is supported and guided by means of tongues formed by punched out and bent over portions of the bottom plates 8 and 9 respectively. The length of the bent over portion of these tongues is such that the sliding plate, when it is put into position and held by said tongues, will abut the outer rim of the collars 22 formed on the bottom plates around the openings or holes 21. On the end opposite to the finger piece 23 a stem 26 is provided on the sliding plate and a spring 27 surrounds this stem and abuts with one of its ends against the sliding plate and with its other end against the adjacent end wall of the housing portion urging the sliding plate to slide in such a direction, that the finger part 23 will extend through the slot 24. Two holes 28 are provided in each sliding plate and these holes are arranged in such a manner that they will be off et in relation to the holes 21 in the bottom plate, when the slide plates are in position shown in Figure 1. The walls or themetal surrounding the holes may be bevelled. The guide pins 12 have, as indicated in Figure 1 a cylindrical body 29 carrying on each end a neck 30 which in turn carries a conical head 31 forming a circular groove with the end surface of the body 29.
One of these pins is inserted in each of the holes 21 and the collars 22 formed about these holes serve as guide for the pins. The
necks of each pin extend beyond the corresponding guide 22 and through the adjacent hole 28 in the sliding plate so that the sliding plate itself will engage the groove in the pin under the pressure of the spring 27 .The receptacle is operated as follows: In order to open the receptacle it is necessary to press one of the sliding plates inwardly by pressing upon the corresponding finger part 23, because as long as both sliding plates are in the position shown in Figure 1 the receptacle is securely locked by means of the two sliding plates engaging the pins 12. When one of those sliding plates is moved inwardly of the housing against the pressure of the spring 27, that sliding plate will be disengaged from the pins and that part of the housing, in which sliding plate so disengaged is located may be swung open about the hinge with three holes or openings located in certain distances on the longitudinal center line of said-blades. The pins 12 and the center boss 20 of the receptacle according to the present invention are arranged in such a manner that razor blades having these openings may be placed into the receptacle whereby then the pins 12 and the central boss 20 extend through the openings in the razor blades holding them in a certain position. When a person wants to use a sharp razor blade he will take the receptacle containing the razor blades holding that portion of the housing on top which is marked Sharp. He will then press on both ends against the finger parts, but he only can move the upper sliding plate inwardly to release this sliding plate from the pins, so that the upper part of the housing may be opened, because the lock ball 13 of the lower part rests in the socket 18 extending into a center hole 32 provided in the sliding plates and thereby preventing sliding movement of the lower plate. After the receptacle is opened the top blade, which has been resting the lon est time, can be removed and can be uesd. lifter a person is through shaving he wants to put the razor blade away again so that it will be way down on the bottom on that side which is marked Dull. He therefore holds the receptacle in such a manner that this portion marked dull will be on top and now the two lock balls will change their positions. The lock ball having been so far in position to prevent the movement of the sliding plate 10 will drop through the hole 32 in said plate into the hollow space provided in the center boss 20 of the bottom plate 8 while the lock ball which has been resting so far in the hollow space of the bottom plate 9 will drop into the socket 18 of the receptacle portion 7 thereby preventing sliding movement of the sliding plate 11. The blade can then be laid on the top of the pile, thereby coming on the dull side so that every other razor blade contained in the receptacle will be on top of the last used razor blade when the part marked sharp is opened.
I claim:
