My invention relates to eye protectors which keep away light from the eye without interfering with the circulation of the air in the region which they cover.

To this end I so design my eye protector that on "the one hand it is opaque and on the other is permeable for air.

The object of my novel allow the wearer to sleep uring the day time in the open air, or 'to sleep in rooms from which the light cannot, or not to av suflicient extent, be excluded.

. My protector may be designed as a single cap for both eyes or as two caps, one for each eye, which are connected'by a stay, as

m spectacles or in apince-nez. Any suitable means may be provided for holding the protector on the head of the wearer.

In the accompanying drawin a protector 2 of the spectacle type with a rub er strap for holding it on the wearers'head, is illustrated by way of example.

Instead of two separate caps, 1, 1, a single cap or resilient tie may be provided for covering both eyes which obviously, like separate caps, must be so deep as not to interfere with the movement of the eyelids, and is equipped with means for shutting out the light and permitting air circulation, and with fastening means as described for the.

The. protector which is preferably made of a material that is notliable to break, and possesses minimum weight, is readily folded so that it can conveniently be carried in the pocket.
