Referring to Figs. 4, 5 and 6, a wheeled truck is illustrated comprising a truckbody or base 25, front axle 26, rear axle 27, the said axles being secured to the truck body by bearing straps 28, and traction wheels 29 secured at either end of the axles 26 and 27 at either side of the truck body. 25. A slot 30 is provided in the truck body extending rearwardly from the front end thereof to adjacentthe center of the body. A U'-shaped guide 31 is secured to the front end of the truck body fitting within slot 30 and extending some little distance below the bottom of the truck body. The front axle 26 has a crank portion 32 formed thereon. A pivot 33 is secured to the top of the truck body adjacent the rear end of the slot and extends transversely across the slot. The pivot 33 is preferably constructed in the shape of a small bar for convenience in attachment to the top of body 25; other construction of pivot 33, may be made if desired. A plate 34 is provided having the hook arms 35 and 36 corresponding respectively'to the hook arms 17 and 18 of the plate 16; A forwardly extending arm 37 is provided, the arm being secured to the rear portion of a toy figure 38 correspond-v ing to the figure 21 with the exception that.
the rider with arms pivoted thereto is left off of the toy figure 28. Legs 39 and40 similar in construction to. legs 23 and 24, are secured to the toy figure 38. A clip. 41 is secured to the forward portion of'the truck body 25 and is adapted to receive a removable figure- 42 simulating a wagon driver, the figure 42' having an arm 43 at its lower end adapted to be releasably engaged within the clip 41. Arms 44 are pivotally secured at either side of the figure 42 for free swinging movement. A pair of hooks 48 are secured to either side of the front end of the truck body 25, a bail 49 extending around the front portion of toy figure 38, and being secured to "the hooks. A draw string 50 may be secured to the front end of bail 49.
Referring to the structure illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2, considering the plate 16: to be detached from the truck, the plate 16 is swung upwardly so thatarm 17 is directed, generally, downwardly. Arm 17 is then inserted within the slot 13 and the plate 16 is turned so that the arm 17 will be hooked about the pivot 14. Plate 16 will then be swung about pivot 14 until the plate is held in somewhat raised position whereupon the axle 9, will be rotated until the hook arm 18 is in engagement with the crank portion 12 of the axle 9. The forward end of the plate will now fit within guide 15. The device is now ready for use. The truck may be pushed or drawn by draw string 46 across a level surface. As the crank 9 revolves, oscillatory motion will be transmitted to the plate 16 by the crank portion 12 of shaft 9. Inasmuch as the hook arm 17 is hooked over pivot 14 the plate 16 will swing about the pivot 14 as an axis, the main portion of the plate swinging first up and then down. As the toy figure 21 rides upwardly and downwardly, due to the imparted oscillating motion, arms 22 will swing back and forth on their pivot and the legs 23. and 24 will also. swing on their pivots. A very realistic riding, action is thus attained. When the arm 19 is connected to the forward portion of the toy figure 21 as shown in Fig. 3 due to the oscillatory motion imparted to the toy figure, a bucking effect will be obtained, the rear end of the toy figure being raised to. the dotted position illustrated-in Fig. 3 at the height of the buck.
When the structure illustrated in Figs. 4, 6 and 6. is used, an oscillatory motion will be imparted to the toy figure 38 corresponding to, that taken by a} driven horse in actual av Th toy is Pre e ab y rawn y draw String 47. It can be seen.that a very realistic toy is provided which travels with almost life-like movement.
The plate 16, and the toy figure attached thereto, may be detached from the truck body 7 by merely raising the plate to. the position illustrated in dotted lines in Fig. 1 or in dotted lines in Fig, 3, rotating the shaft 9 to disengage the hook arm 18 therefrom and then disengage the hook arm- 17 from the pivot 14. Plate 1 6: and toy fig-- ure 21 can then be placed flat against the truck body 17 and the toy will be arranged in a compact form for shipment in a small box, or for other purposes.
The device illustrated in Figs. 4, 5 and 6 may be assembled and disassembled in the same manner as above described. The toy figure of the driver may be readily released or attached to clip 41. As the device is drawn by bail 49, the toy figure 3.8 will oscillate about pivot 33 to correspond to, the action of a driven horse.
Various types of toy figures may be con nected to the figure connecting arms of the devices to reproduce various actions.
It will, of course, be understood, that various changes may be made in the form, details, arrangement and proportions of the various parts without departing from the scope of the present invention, which, generally stated, consists in the matter- Shown and described and set forth in the following claims What is claimed is:

2. A toy comprising a base having a vertical longitudinally extending slot formed therein, an axle shaft journaled in said base, said shaft having a crank portion formed thereon, traction wheels secured to said shaft, a pivot secured to said base and extending across said slot adjacent one end thereof, a member adapted to fit within said slot and to hook over said pivot, said memher being also adapted to be engaged with the crank portion of said shaft, whereby as said traction wheels are rotated oscillatory motion will be imparted to said member about said pivot asan axis, said member being releasable from said pivot and said shaft.
3. A figured wheeled toy comprising a substantially rectangularly shaped base having a vertical slot therein extending'longitudinally thereof, an axle extending transversely of said base and across said slot, said axle having an offset portion formed therein, wheels secured to said axle, a pivot secured to said base and extending transversely across said slot at a point remote from said axle and a removable irregularly shaped plate adapted tobe disposed in said slot, said plate having a hook arm formed at one end thereof adapted to be hooked over said pivot, and the bottom edge of said plate being adapted to rest on the offset portion of said axle, whereby as said axle is rotated when said plate is so positioned, saidplate will oscillate ab'out said pivot, said plate being removable from said slot by unhooking said hook arm from said pivot and raising the plate out of said slot.

5. A toy comprising a base, an axle journaled in said base, said axle having a crank portion therein, traction wheels secured to said axle, said base having a vertical slot therein, a pivot secured to said base and extending across said slot adjacent one end thereof, a U-shaped guide member fitting within said slot at the opposite end thereof from said pivot and a plate adapted to be inserted within said slot and U-shaped member, said platehaving an arm adapted to hook over said pivot and having an arm adapted to hook over said crank portion of the axle, whereupon as said traction wheels are rotated an oscillatory motion will be given to said plate about said pivot as an axis.
6.. A toy figure having a body portion, two legs thereon and a single pivot secured in said body portion and upon which each of said legs are loosely mounted for swinging movement thereabout, said respective legs being oppositely counterbalanced on said pivot so that the lower extremities of the legs will normally be held apart to simulate walking position.
7. A toy figure comprising a body portion and a pair of legs, said legs being disposed at either side of said body portion, the upper portions of each of said legs being loosely pivoted on a single pivot extending through said toy figure, one of said legs being centrally offset forwardly in respect to said pivot, the other of said legs being centrally offset rearwardly in respect to said pivot, whereby the lower extremities of said legs will normally hang in spread relation to each other.
