My'present inventionpertains to devices for holding safety razor blades incident to i being stropped or the stropping thereof; and it contemplates the provision of a safety" razor blade holder characterized by simplicity and inexpensiveness in constructlon and by features which contribute materially to the facility with which a safety razor blade may be placed and secured in the holder and removed therefrom, and this without impairment of the ,efficiency offthe holder in precluding casual displacement of the blade while thesame is otherwise manipulated. To the attainment of the foregoing, theinvention consists in the improvement as hereinafter described and definitely claimed;

Among other elements, my novel holder comprises body members 1 and 2, said members metal, possessed or resiliency. The body member 1 has a handle portion 3 and lugs 4 reaching laterally from the longitudinal edges thereof, and it also has at the forward end of the handle portion 3 a shank 1* on which are spaced studs orprotuberances 5. The forward endv of the said shank 4* is bifurcated as designated by 6 for a purpose hereinafter set forth. Notwithstanding this however, the clip 12 is manifestly adapted to be expeditiously and easily placed in the said bifurcation and in straddling relation on the end portions of the shanks of the body members, and is also adapted with equal facility to beremoved from the bifurcations of-the body members.
In the practical use of my improvement and while the holder is in the state shown ,in Figure 1, a razor bladeof the apertured type and designated by 11, is placed between the shank portions of the body members 1 and 2 and so that when the forward ends of the said shank'portions arepressed or otherwise brought together, the clip 12 may be readily disposed in the bifurcations 6 and 9 and in engagement withtheshank portions. Notwithstanding the facility with'which a razorblade may be placed in and removed 11 from between the shanks of the body from my novel holder it willbe manifestthat when the parts are relatively arranged as. shown in Figures 2 and 3, there is no liability of a razor blade being accidentally released from the holder which is a desirable feature of my improvement. It will also be noted from the foregoing that my improvement is susceptible of -being expeditiously andeasily manufactured, the studs 5' being when deemed expedient pressed from the metal of the body member 3. and the holes 10 'being when desired punchedin the member 2.
It will also be understood from the fore going that ,by virtue of the lugs 4 bent as illustrated in Figures 1, 2 and 3, the handle portions of the body members 1 and 2 are connected together of themselves without the assistance of extraneous means, and this. manifestly.contributes to a considerable eX- tent to thei-nexpensiveness of the holder.
I have specifically described the present and preferred embodiment of my invention in order to impart an exact understanding of the said embodiment in all of its details. I-do not desire. however, to be understood as li-miting myself to the precise construe-.
tion shown and specifically described, my invention being defined by 'my appended claims within the scope of which modifications may be made without departure from my invention.

A holder for safety razorblades, comv prising two members arranged in lapped relation and havmg handle portions, one of the said members having on the longitudinal edges of its handleportion lugs arranged over and holding the other handle portion, and the two members having at the forward ends of their handle portions shanks that terminate in bifurcated portions, and one shank having studs and the other apertures to receivesaid studs, and one shank possessed of a tendency to spring laterally away from the other shank, and a U-shaped clip rem'ovably arranged in the bifurcations of the shanks and straddling the forward portions of theshanks to detachably hold the 'U-shaped clip, removably arranged in the bifurcations of the shank and straddling the forward portions of the shanks to detachably hold the same together. v
