This invention relates to improvements in receptacles and has particular reference to a receptacle adapted to house a plurality of articles, such as toilet articles.

The principal object of this invention is to produce a receptacle wherein the articles to be carried may be neatly arranged and separated one from the other.

,Another object is to produce a device of this character which is simple in construction, sturdy, neat in appearance and-cheap to manufacture.

Other objects and advantages'will be apparent during the course of the following description.

In the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same,

Figure 1 is a perspective view of my completed device in a folded position, and

Figure 2 is a perspective view of my device in an open position.

Many forms of the carrying cases have been devised for transporting toilet articles. Most of these, however, have been in the form of soft rolls which due to their flexibility precluded the carrying of any refiect ing surface such as a mirror, without unduly bending or breaking the same.

A case such as I have devised is particularly adaptable for use by aviators, barbers and traveling men.

In the accompanying drawings wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention, the numerals 5 and 6 refer to the sides of the receptacle which has a mirror carrying portion 7 attached thereto, within which a mirror 8 is positioned.

The numeral 9 designates the back of the device which is always attached to the sides 5 and 6. A hinged cover is shown at 11 which is hinged to the back as by a connecting portion 12. The sides 5 and 6 are' reenforced by reenforcing elements 12 and 13, respectively.

l/Vithin the receptacle thus formed are positioned partitions 14, 16 and 17, which partitions form individual pockets in which various articles may be placed.

At 18 I have shown a strip of material secured to the sides 5 and 6 and to the partition 17 as indicated at 19. This strip of material fastened as at 19, forms pockets for articles of smallersize than those confined in the pockets formed by the partitions 14;, 16 and 17.

A. similar strip of material is shown at 21 which is secured to the strip 18, as at 22 and 23, thus making three small pockets into which small articles may be placed.

A flexible strap 24 is secured to the cover 11 and has its free end engaged by a buckle 26 secured to the back 9 as by a tab 27.

The manner of employing my device is as follows Assuming that the same is in folded position as shown in Figure 1, the strap 24 is disengaged from the buckle 26. The cover is swung to the position shown in Figure 2 and the strap 2 1again engaged with the buckle 26. This prevents the separating of the back and cover, thereby forming an easel out of the same, while in this position the articles within the various pockets may be readily removed and at the same time, the mirror is positioned upon an angle which when resting upon the table makes the same easy to use.

It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as a preferred example of the same, and that various changes in the shape, size and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claim.

Having thusdescribed my invention, I 'claim:+

In a toilet kit a receptacle, a plurality of partitions positioned within said receptacle, flexible strips secured to one of said partitions so as to form pocket-s thereon, a mirror secured to said receptacle, a hinged cover secured to said receptacle, said hinged cover being adapted to enclose one end and the front of said, receptacle, said cover fur-- ther being capable of supporting said receptacle in open position.
