GAME APPARATUS.

Application filed November 13, 1925. Serial No. 68,769.

The object of my invention is to provide an apparatus by means of which there may be played, by any suitable number of play ers, a game simulating a game of golf.

The accompanying drawings illustrate my invention.

Fig. 1 is a diagram illustrating a satisfactory playing chart;

Fig. 2 a plan of a play designator or determinator;

Fig. 3 a plan of a set of greens charts;

Fig. 4 elevations of the playing pieces, and

Fig. 5 a plan of a series ofspinners simulating the various golf clubs and formed for individual use in conjunction with the play designator or determinator shown in Fig. 2.

In the drawings Fig. 1 is a playing chart illustrating diagrammatically a golf course upon which the various links are charted and over which the playing pieces may be traversed, the distance between each tee and its green, and beyond, being charted in successive steps, say, twenty yards each, and each 2 of the links having arranged thereon, or adjacent thereto, indications of such hazards as may be'desired.

In Fig. 2 I show "a means by which successive plays may be indicated or determined, such means being a spinner chart provided at its center with a'post X upon which may be mounted, for spinning, any one of a series of the spinners shown in Fig. 5, each of said spinners being individualized by form, marking or name to simulate a particular playing implement as, for instance, a club commonly used in playing golf. In addition to the spinners shown in Fig. 5, I also provide the release spinner shown in 40 Fig. 2. p 0

The spinner chart is provided on its face with a plurality oflconcentric play-indicating designations, each comprising play designations corresponding to the several spinners already mentioned. For instance, the inner series 1? gives indications for putter play and penalties; series M gives indications formashie play and penalties; series MI gives indications for midiron play and enalties; series B gives indications for Erassie play and penalties; series D gives indications for driver play and penalties; and series B is a series of indications, in arbitrary succession, corresponding to the various penalty indications appearing in series P, M, MI, B and D, and on the playing .111 to the penalty symbol .chart, as well as any additional release symbols which may be desired.

Each of these greens cards is marked with a series of concentric -circles preferably indicating distances in feet, and a center indicator to indicate the hole.

It will be readily understood that while I have illustrated my apparatus as of a character to permit the'playing of a game simulating golf, nevertheless, by appropriate changes in the chart designator and card items, other subject matter may be utilized as the basis of the game.

In playing the game each of the players will be given one of the men shown in Fig. 4 and one of the greens cards shown in Fig. 3. Each player in turn will then select an appropriate spinner, according to his own ideas of the manner in which he desires to play his next shot, and, after placing it upon X cause the same to spin around. When it comes to rest the indication opposite its designating end, on the concentric series of play-designating indications corresponding to the selected spinner will determine the position to which his playing piece is to be advanced on the link which is beingiplayed.

A game apparatus comprising a game chart indicating a series of courses to be traversed, each of said courses comprising a series of steps at successive distances; a single play-designator chart comprising a coordinated multiplicity of series of distance indications by which the extent of any play maybe designated, and a coordinated series oi release indications, and means, associable with said play designator serving as a playing-implement indicator and capable of traversing the indications of the designator.

A play designator chart for game apparatus comprising in a single unit a multiplicity of coordinated series of distance in' dications by which the extent of any play may be designated and a coordinated series of release indications, and means, associable with said play-designator chart serving as a playing-implement indicator and capable of traversing the indications of the designator.

A play designator chart for game apparatus comprising in a single unit a multiplicity of coordinated series of distance indications by which the extent of any play may be designated, a coordinated series of play-obstructing indications, and a coordinated series of release indications corresponding to the. play-obstructing indications,

A play designator for game apparatus comprising in a single unit a multiplicity of coordinated series of distance indications by which the extent of any play may be designated, a coordinated series of play-obstructing indications, and a coordinated series of release indications corresponding to the play-obstructing indications, and a series of playing-implement indicators individually associable with and capable of traversing the indications of the designator.
