Description
H. CHERRY ET AL COMBINATION TOOL Oct. 26 1926. 1,604,735
Fild April 9 1925 gnu M14304 270mm; Gfir/y Harri U/Mrzy Patented Get. 26, 1926.
UlTED STATES TENT orrlcs,
COMBINATION TOOL.
Application filed April 9, 1925.
A still further object of the invention is' to provide a combination tool of this nature, which is exceedingly simple in construction, one which is efliclent and reliable in use. inexpensive to manufacture,
strong, durable, easy to manipulate, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
With the above and numerous other objeets in view, as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will he hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In'the drawing:
The figure is'a fragmentary elevation of the tool.
Referring to the drawing in detail, it will be seen that 5 designates an elongated handle having the head 6 formed integrally or otherwise on one end thereof and provided with the hammer 7 and claw nail puller 8,
the nail puller and hammer proper being Serial No. 21,964.
oppositely disposed as in an ordinary claw hammer.
The handle 5 is. provided with a longi tudinally extending groove 11. An ice pick 12 is pivoted in the end of the groove 11 adjacent the head 6. An extension 14: is disposed laterally from the ice pick 12 for engaging in a notch 18 provided in the ham-. mer 7. The extension 14: is formed of spring metal and has its curved extremity 19 adapted to be sprung in and out of the diagonaL' 1y disposed notch 18 as thepick is swung toward or away from the. hammer 7. When not in use the pick 12 may be swung to be disposed in the groove 11.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new is:
A tool of the class described including an elongated handle having a longitudinally extending groove therein an ice-pick pivoted in one end of the grooveso that it may be swung to extend into the groove or to a position angularly of the handle, a head formed on the handle adjacent the pivot of the ice-pick, an extension on the head, said extension provided with a diagonally extending notch, and a resilient arm extending from the ice-pick and having a curved terminal adapted to swing into. and out of the notch. i
In testimony whereof we afiix our signa- 65 tures.
HENRY CHERRY. THOMAS CHERRY.
