This invention relates to safety devices for v `preventing the opening of the cover to aV machine while thel interior working parts are inoperation and for preventing the starting 6 of the machine while said cover is opened, thel same being particularly designed for use in connection with centrifugal extractor-s used in laundries.
vOne ofthe principal objects of the present i invention is to provide anl improved'attachment for extractors which eliminates the accidental opening of the cover while the ma.- chine is in operation or the accidental start-- ing of theV machine while the cover is opened.
l5 The invention more specifically contemplates an improved safety attachment for extractors which includes means for locking the cover in a closedcondition, which'means is operable by a governor on the drive .shaft to dispose the same in a locked position when the drive shaft is active.
The invention furthermore coniprehends means for preventing the manipulation of the lever to render the machine activewhen the cover of the machine is ,in'a'n opened condition. v
Other objects reside .in the provision of an improved safety attachment for extractors,'
`which is simple in its construction and mode of operation, which is inexpensive to manufacture and install, and which-is thoroughly reliable and highly efficient in its purpose.-
