This invention relates to revoluble seats for vehicles, siieh as rail cars, and has for its object to atliord a co-operation ot' seat and pedestal which shall maintain v the kseat locked against rotation orieinoval eXcepjt the base ofthe pedestal, one arin oit which may be depressed yby the foot tocause the oti'ierarm to raise the. spindle slightly, Vthe lever also carrying an upwardly extending arm adapted in lockedv position toenter one oi' diametrically disposed locking ioriiied in a plate carried with thespindle.
The upwardly extending arm mayalso be formed -with. an enlarged portionl overlying` the plate to prevent accidental o r unauthor-- ized removal of the seat.
In order that the invention may be clearly understood `and readily carriedinto etlect4 the same will now be described more fully vwith reference to the accompanying draw-v ings illustrating a preferred einbodinient thereof, in which:

The seat L is mounted upon and rigidly secured to a downwardly depending spindle b journaled or rotatable ina cylindrical sleeve or bearing e secured against rotation :in the cylindrical base member d forming va part of the pedestal d. The seatv is reversed, or in fact turned to face in any direction, by turning it, and with it, of course, the spindle on which it is carried, with reference to the pedestal. It is normally locked against rotation and, particularly after 'a' weight has been supported thereby,l the 1ven'iova-l thereot.
