This invention .relates generally to garments, but has particular reference to ladies? under garments adapted to be worn next to the body.
One of the objects of my invention is .the
provision of a unitary garment comprising a. petticoat' or skirt or princess slip, a
chemise or brassire and bloomers. c
A further object of the invention is found in the particular construction of the garment herein shown wherein the three garment-s in one are supported, from a singlepair of shoulder straps, said construction embodying the securing or support of the upper portion of the combined brassire and bloomers from the upper portion or upper end-of the skirt or slip, thus carrying a doublev portion of the material above the -Waistline of the wearer.A `and alfordin'g ,the use of the upper portion Aof the bloomer garment as a chemise or brassire. i A
The upper chemise portion of the bloomer garment, as will hereinafter be explained'is provided with a draw string or ribbon forA tightening to afford the use .of such garment portion as a brassire.
' With the above and other objects in view, my invention consists in the novelcombina-v tion and construction or arrangement of the upper parts and members shown in the accompanyi ing drawing, described in the following specifications and particularly pointed out in t ie appended claims.
Referring to the illustrations Figure 1 is an elevation of a garment embodying my invention with a portion thereof broken away to 'show an under garment;
Figure 2 is a cross section taken on line 2 2 of Figure'l, showing the junction of the outer and innergarments;
Figure 3 is across section taken on lineP 3-3 of Figure 1, showing the draw string for the upper portion of the bloomer ga ment.
In the illustrations, 10 indicates a princess slip having'a skirt oi pettiecat portion 10A, The' upper edge of the slip 10 is provided with a fold 11 which embraces the upper'end or edge ofthe under garment 12, and securely retains same b a line of stitches 13. The fold 11, it wil be observed, is large enough to-providefor the ribbon or cord 14 by means of which the upper part of the garment .close fit.
The under garment 12 comprises integral bloomers 12A. and an upper portion 12B which may be worn as a chemise .or as a brassire, by drawing of the ribbon oil cord 15 whichis provided in the pocket ' 16A of the band 16.' v
A single pair of straps 18 -is provided which are` sewed to the upper portion of the .unitary garment.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and ters Patent is:
1. A unitaryfabric garment comprising an outer garment, means on the upper edge of said outer garment for drawing in said upper edge -for close fit on the wearer, a single pair of shoulder straps attached to the upper end cfs-aid outer garment, and inner imay be drawn together for desire to secure by Letv.
to said upper edge of said outer garment and the lower portion of said inner garment being formed into bloomers, a laterally extending pocket on said inner garment above the waist line and below the bust thereof, said outer garment extending downwardly bclaw the lower end of said bloonier pori ion, and a ribbon in said pocket for drawing in said inner garment below the ,bust of the wearer.
2. A unitary fabric garment comprising an outer garment, and an "inner garment, said outer garment having a fold 'at the upper edgethereof forming a laterally extending pocket, a single pair of straps secured to the upper end 'of the garment, said inner garment having its upper edge se` cured to said upper edge of said outer garment, a ribbon or cord within said pocket of said outer garment whereby the upper ends of both outer and inner garments may be drawn in for close fit on the wearer, means above the waist line and below the mist of said 'inner garment for drawing in said inner garment below the bust the wearer, and 'a'pair of bloomers formed on the lower end of said inner garment, said outer garment extending'downwardly below the lower end of said bloomer portion.
