My invention relates to fireplace heating systems and is an improvement over my prior Patent Number. 1,638,286,' lssued August 9, 1927, for fireplaces.v The primary objects of my present invention are to provide a fireplace having a vfire-wellin the bottom thereof with a hot-air chamber 'completely surroundingsame together with another hot-air Chamber enclosed by a radiator-plate andin .communication with 'the first named Chamber Whereby the maximum amount of heat from the fire is utilized in heating the air that is drawn into the chambers and returned to the several rooms by pipes or conduits as hereinafter set forth. Other` objects are to provide means for a direct fire draft and gravitational means for discharging the ashes from the fire.
VVith the above and other'objects in .view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement hereinafter described and claimed.l These objects are accomplished by devices illustrated in the accompanying drawings; wherein:

Referring to the drawings throughout which like reference numerals designate like parts, the numerals 5 and 6 `indicate respectively the floor and Vertical wall of a room wherein the fireplace is located. Said ireplace has the usual opening 7 for thefire and a chimney tlue 8 leading upwardly therefrom.
A fire-well 9 is disposed in the bottom i of the opening 7 with its open top substantially flush with the flooring 5. Said firewell has Vertical upper side walls 10 ancl lower convergent side walls 11 with a grate 12 supported at their joinder substantially midway of the depth of said well. Said well has a restricted bottom 18 with an ashchute 14: depending therefrom whereby the ashes from thegrate will fall and be carried off by gravity as will be readily understood.
The back wall 10 of the fire-well 9 extends upwardly and is curredoutwardly within the opening 7 in the form of a concavc radiator plate 15.; i From a point- 16, said radiator plate slants backwardly and upwardly,

into .the side wallsofthe opening 7 as at 20. Thus a completely enclosedV back-chamber 21 is formed by said radiator plate, walls, and flooring for reasons more fully hereinafter described. o
A casing 22 is placed completely around the fire-well 9 in spaced relation thereto to form a bottom-Chamber 23 extendingall around said well. The upper edge of said casingis secured to the underside of the flooring 5 withthe exception of its back Wall which may be secured to 'the Vertical wall 6 in any desired manner. It willl be obvious that said bottom-chamber is sealed of with the exception of its back space which is in direct communication with'the back-chamber 21 as clearly shown in Fig. 2 of the drawings.
The cool air is draWn into the bottomchamber 23 by means of al pipe 24 which may have a plurality of other pipes conlnected therewith and leading to registers or openings in 'the several rooms of the house;V Thepheat from thefire within the fire-well 9 will, of course, cause the Warm air to rise into the back-Chamber 21 where it is still subject to the heat from the fire striking against the radiator plate 15. From the upper end portion of said back-Chamber the warm air will rise through openings 25 and pass through pipes 26 to registers 27 where it will be thrown outl into the difas at 17, to the rear chimney wall Where its upper edge portion is set into the masonry ferent rooms to replace'the cool air which has been drawn therefrom, thus causing a continuous circulation. i v
For the purpose of providing ample draft for the fire within the fire-well 9 I have in- 'i stalled draft pipes 28 which may take cool air from points 29 within the room, such as registers or screened openings, and conduct same directly to the fire through a plurality of small openings 30 in the side walls of the well 9. The radiator plate'l will projecta certain amount of heat into the room and it Will therefore be obvious that means is ino provided for amply heating the room Wherein the device is installed.
Thug it Will be apparent that I have provided means for utlizing a maximum amount of heat generated by the fire Within the open fireplace which is made to serve the economic Purpose of heating the entire home and whereby the more expensive heating systems such as furnaces and the like may be eliminated.
I-aving thus deseribed my invention what I claim and desire to secure hy'Letters Patent of the United States'is:V
1. Aifireplace heating system comprising a Vfire-we1i,'a radiatorpiate arranged to form a hack-chambera a oasing Varranged to form a hot-tom-chamber around the fire-"Well, and said hottom-chamher being in direct co1nmunication with said back-Chamber.
2. A fireplace heatng system compr'sing a fire-Well, an upstanding radiator plate for said Well arranged to form a back-Chamber With the fireplace, a casing for the lsides and tom-Chamber therewith, said bottom-chamher inidirecgt.communication with said back- Chamber, cool air conduits for the bottom- Chamber, and Warm air conduits for the hack-Chamber.
