FLYING BALL.

Application filed December 23, 1927. Serial No. 242,225.

This invention relates to toys, and particularly to toys for children. The general object of the invention is to provide a ball of relatively soft material so constructed that it will amuse children by being thrown into the air or whirled in the air.

My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a perspective view of a ball constructed in accordance with my invention I Figure is a sectional view through the ball and arrow;

Referring to this drawing, 10 designates a ball which may be formed of rubber, cotton or any other suitable material and be ither solid or hollow. This ball 10 preferably has a cover, designated 11, which may be made of leather, yarn, cloth or may be a crocheted cover.

Extending through the ball is the similitude of an arrow, preferably made of a folded piece of patent leather or enamel-coated cloth or like material. This is so shaped as to provide a body more or less in the form of an arrow, having a head 12 and the bifurcated feathers 13. This arrow, as before stated, is formed of patent leather or enamel covered cloth longitudinally folded upon itself and extending through the ball. Attached to the ball is a cord 14, which at its end remote from the ball may be provided with a ring 15 through which the fingers of the hand may be inserted.

The purpose of the device is to amuse children and to this end the ball may be thrown into the air or whirled in the air by holding the string attached to the ball.v It will be understood that the ball may, be either solid or hollow, and that the arrow and ball may be made either large or small.
