Description

w. P. WALTER.
Cornice Tools.
Pat ented Aug. 16,1875.
UNITED STATES PATENT QFFIGE.
WILLIAM P. WALTER, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN CORNlCE-TOOLS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 166,666, dated August 10, 1875; application filed April 10, 1875.
sented, in perspective, my improved moldinginstrument in condition for use.
In ordinary plasterers molding-instruments, the molding-plate is rigidly secured to the guiding-frame and handle, and is consequently bulky and inconvenient, both to handle and store. This objection I overcome by constructing the mold as shown in the drawing, in which A represents a molding-plate; B, the guidingframe for the same, and D the handle by which it is operated. Both the moldingplate A and ilrame B are made, preferably, of cast metal, and the latter is right-angled in shape, so that it affords a firm and steady bearing for the lower corner a of the plate A, to which it is secured by a bolt and nut, or other suitable means which will admit of its ready detachability. The handle D is also secured both to the plate A and frame B by bolts or screws, so that it can also be adjusted to different positions. By this means molding-plates of different sizes or configurations can be attached to the frame B, one frame and handle being thus adapted to a number of plates, thebulk of which in themselves is inconsiderable.
I claim as my im'ention A plasterers molding-instrument in which a detachable molding-plate, A, and handle D are combined with the angular frame B, as and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WM. PENN WALTER.
