Description
April 3, 1928.
L. J. CRUM EXERCISING DEVICE Filed March 4. 1927 I INVENTOR 60 J Cram BY $2M Arum Patented Apr. 3, 1928.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LEO J. CRU'M, F KALA'MAZOO, MICHIGAN, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO LEE L. VOSLER,
OF KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN.
EXERGISING DEVICE.
Application filed March 4, 1927. Serial No. 172,708.
The main object of this invention is to provide an exercising device particularly for use in exercising the feet and legs.
Objects pertaining to details and economics of my invention will definitely appear from the detailed description to follow. The invention is clearly defined in the claim.
A device embodying the features of my improved exercising device is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of my improved exercising device.
Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof with the foot portions indicated thereon, these being omitted from Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is an end view with a foot in normal position thereon.
Fig. 4 is an end view with the heel of the foot raised as in exercising.
My improved exercising device consists of a bar-like support 1 preferably of wood, the face of this support comprising a longitudinally extending flat rear portion 2 and a lower longitudinally extending front portion 3, the front portion being joined to the rear portion by an upward curve 4. This curve merges into both the fiat rear portion and the lower front portion 3.
The front edge 5 is downwardly curved and the front of the lower portion 3 merges into the curve of the front edge.
In use the person exercising stands upon the device with the great toes projecting over the foot rests upon the surface 3.
This device is highly desirable for use in exercising the feet, toes and legs and may be used with a minimum of danger of straining the muscles of the feet.
In Fig. 2 the device is provided with foot. outlines 6. These, however, are not essential and for convenience in illustration are omitted from Fig. 1. 7
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A device for the usein exercising having a face comprising a longitudinally extending fiat rear portion and a longitudinally extending lower front portion merging into the flat rear portion with an upward curve and terminating in a downwardly curved front edge so that a user may stand upon the device with the heel upon the flat rear portion and the ball upon the lower front portion and with the toesprojecting over the curved front edge.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
LEO J. CRUM.
