This invention relates te'imprevements in letting machines, more particularly to a lot ting machine comprising a revolving pelygenal container for the lot balls having an'in- 6 let orifice for inserting the balls and an outlet orifice for drawing out the same, there beinga letting box arranged in the said container, which consists of a base board with a top board and is adapted to success vely eject the let balls from the said container. The invention has for its object to PIOVldG a letting machine, whereby the lot balls in the said container may be drawn out positively one. by one at each revolution of the said container without confusion.

In the letting machine previously known, it has been proposed to draw out the lots through the complicated means of sliding valves, so that the machine is too compli- 4 cated for practical use. Another type of lotting machine is designed to allow the let balls to roll out, opening a shutter suspended in the way of the said lot balls, but this con struction allows two or more balls run out at a time. In the present invention these d e-v fects are eliminated bythe use of a letting box of novel construction. 1 y

Referring to the drawings, the reference numeral 1 designates a container for the lot balls, the container being polygonal in its general outline and provided with an inlet orifice 2 for inserting the lot balls. It is also provided with an outlet orifice 3 for ejecting the balls. Secured to the container 1 is a 55 shaft 4 which is provided with a crank 5 at the one end, on onearm of which is mounted ahandle 6. The letting box 14 consists of a rectan-gular baseboard 15 and a top board 16. The base board 15 is. provided with grooves 17 and 18, the latter being longer than the former. Adjacent the closed end of the groove 17, an outlet orifice 19. is provided. The wall olthe closedend of the groove 18 is inclined. A blocking strip 20 is diagonally secured to the base board 15 near the open ends of the grooves 17 and l8,toob-' structsaid grooves. The groove 17 communicates with the groove 18 through a transverse groove 21 adjacent the inside of the blocking strip 20.. The top board 16 is provided with a cavity 26 to provide a space 'for the swing of the shutter 22 and a curved groove 27 to provide a passage for the lot balls rolling from letting box 1 1-. turned upside down, and is also cut away in one side adjacent the closed end of the grooves l'i and 18 on the base board 15 toprovide a guide way 28 having an inclined side wall 29 and a vertical side wall 2-30 for guiding the lot balls in the container 1 into the groove 18 on the base board 15 (Figs. =1 and 5). i

In operation, many let balls are put into the container 1 through the inlet orifice 2, and the inlet orifice is closed by suitable means. The container 1 holding the lot balls is rotated in a counter clockwise direction by means of the handle 6 so that the lot balls become thoroughly mixed. when the lotting box 14 is in the position A as shown in Figure 6 the lot balls are scooped up by the guide way 28 and roll into the groove 18, rolling along the inclined side wall 29 of the said guide way. In the position B, in which the container 1 has been rotated through an angle of 90 the lotting box 14:, contains only one lot ball in the groove 18. The lot ball then rolls down on the blocking strip 20 in the said'groove by swinging the shutter 22 through angle of 90, the shutter preventing another ball from rolling into the innerside of the groove 18, a wing 23 of the said shutter abutting the bottom of the groove and another wing 24: obstructing the groove. In the position (1., in which the container has been rotated fur ,ther through an angle of 90, the shutter 22 hangs on its pivot pin 25 and the lot ball rolls from the groove 18 into the groove 17 through the grooves 21 and 27 in the top board 16. In the position D inwhich [the container has been rotated further through an angle of 90, the shutter returns to the first position and the lot ball rolls down into the outlet orifice 19 through the groove 17. When the container has been rotated further to the first position A, the lot ball rolls down in the lot ball room 12 on the base plate 9 through the outlet orifice 3 in the container 1., Thus the lot balls are to be drawn out one by one at each revolution of the container.

A lotting inacliinacamprising a polygonal revolving container for lot balls, a letting box secured to said container, said letting box consisting of a baseboard pro vided with grooves for passage of the lot balls, a swinging shutter hinged in one of said grooves, and atop board provided with a guide way and a groove for the passage of the lot balls, the grooves in thebase board being so formed that the lotballs arclpermitted to enter said box when the container is rotated in one direction and prevented from entering said box when the container is rotated in the opposite direction.

A lotting machine, coinprisinga polygonal revolving container for lot balls having an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice for the lot balls, a lotting box secured to said container, said letting box consisting of a base board provided with two grooves communicating with each other through a transverse groove for the passagenof the lot balls, one of said grooves being provided with an outlet orifice for the lot balls and the other with a swinging shutter consisting of two right-angled wings, hingedon a pivot pin in the bottom of said groove, and Map top board provided with a guide way having a vertical wall and a slanted side wall'and a groove for the passage of the lotballs, 7 I
