H. KLOH SAFETY BUTTON HOOK Filed July 2, 1926 Patented Feb. 7, 1928.
HERMAN KLOH, OF TRIMBLE,
OHIO, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO GEORGE W. ROSE,
OF GLOU'STER, OHIO.
SAFETY BUT'ronHooK.
Application ined July 2,
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in safety Vbutton hooks, and has for its principal kobject to provide a simple and practical device of this character which may be advantageously used in fastening shirt collars, coat collars, or other wearing apparel in place.
The device consists inthe novelA features oit construction, combination, and arrangement of parts illustrated in the accompanying drawings and more particularly pointed out .in the appended. claim.
In the accompanying drawings, which are for illustrative purposes only and are thereiore not drawn to scale:
Figure l is a plan view otv a safety button hook constructed in accordance with my invention.
Figure 2 is a reverse plan view.
Figure 3 is an enlarged central longitudinal sectiointaken on line 3-,3 of Figure l..
Figure 4 is a: vertical longitudinal section, taken on line 1 4 oit Figure 3.
Figure is an ledge view of a modified form of my invention and Figure 6 is anv enlarged central longitudinal section.
The other views are plan views of diiferent modilications of my invention.
`Rejterring to the drawings for a more particular description of my invention and in which drawings like parts are designated by like characters throughout the several views, my device comprises two corresponding circular heads which are spaced a ,suitable distance apart and connected together by the elastic cord or link 2.
In carrying out my invention, the elastic cord or link is provided at each end with a .wire h ook 3 and in, connecting the endsv of the elastic cord or link with the heads lv the outer ends o't the wire hooks 8 are irst inserted through cmresponding transverse openings 4t formed adjacent to the `'outer edges ot the disc plates 5 and then bent inwai-dly back upon themselves for suitable in place. -If desired, packing discs 8 of i card board or other suitable material may be arranged between the inner walls or faces 0111201.' IDGRllJQl'S.
1926. vSerial No; 120,128. .y
ot the disc plates and outer members 6 and said packing discs may be formed with transverse slots or recesses 9 toreceive the inner ends of the elastic cordv in order that the inner faces of the disc plates will tit snugly against the packing discs. It is to beunderstood, however, that I do not necessarily use the packing discs and may forni the heads l merely of the disc plates and I It will be noted that the flange l() ot each outer member is provided with a transverse slot or recess ll to accommodate the corresponding end of the elastic cord or link 2.
The heads l are not necessarily ofcircu- .lar form but may be made elongated, as illustrated in Figure 3, or any other desired shape or form. In the modified forrnpshown in Figure 3 the head is merely made in one piece in the form otfa singular strip whose ends l2 are bent inwardly and brought together and in this construction or term ot mydevice the ends of the elastic cord orA link 2. extends through the openings in the inner ends of the heads and litbetween the innerand outer sections or members 13 and 14, respectively, of the latter.
From the foregoing description taken in; connection with the drawings it is thought that the construction, operation, and advantages'o'f my invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended. explanation. n
Having described my invent-ion, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
In a device of the cl'laraetei.' specied, a
pair of corresponding spaced heads, eachV with transverse recesses .to receive the inner ends of the elastic cord-: l
In. testimony whereof I affix my signature.
