Extended laterally and rigidly from one In like manner, the case is swung back of the case parts-the back, forV exampleagainst the cover member 17 before the comis a bow 14 between the opposite arms of plementary member 22 is allowed to close which is mounted a pin 15 forming a hinge thereupon. In these movements the feet 21 connection with a sleeve or joint 16 that upare brought into contact with the innerside stands from an edge of one cover member of the cover member 22. It is unnecessary 17. As shown, the edges of the two covers that any guideway be provided for the feet owing to the tendency of the cover members to close, rather than to open, vashas been the common practice heretofore.
Av further advantage is realized Whenever it becomes necessary to inspect, repair, or renew the Watch movement. In the present article, the case may be swung completely out from between the two covers (see Fig. 6) by opening the latter sufficiently for this purpose. When so disposed exteriorly of the covers, the `case back may be separated from the bezel, vas shown, afording'access to the movement or permitting, if desired, the movement to be taken out in its entirety. This is a feature unknown, so far as I am aware, in other travelers watches wherein the case 'must first 'be removed before the movement can be taken out.
The .present watch may be produced with a minimum of'expense' owing to its elimination of such features as a catch for the covers, a track` orguideway in one cover for the case to slide in, a second spring hinge where the case is connected to the covers, etc. With these parts omitted, the construction is greatly improved in that I have reduced the manufacturing expense, and have provided for complete control over the'case at such times as its position between the covers undergoes change, and have also promoted accessibility of the case and movement whenever an inspection is to be made.
I claim:
l. A Watch comprising atwo-part movement supporting case, a pair of hinged cover members for enclosing or supporting said watch in upright position therebetween, and a common hinge member connecting said case parts and one of said cover members.
2. A Watch comprising a two-part movement supporting case, a bow rigidly extending from one case part, a hinge connection between said how and 'said other case part, a `pair 'of hinged cover members for enclosing or supporting said watch in upright position therebetween, and a hinge connection begreen said bow and one of said cover memers.
