Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of a side elevation of my brush. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the same.

This invention has relation to tooth-brushes; and the nature of my invention consists in a tooth-brush in which 0118411).(01016 or less) of the bristles incline toward the handle, and the other bristles incline from the handle, there being a tuft of bristles perpendicular to the base of the tooth-brush at its central part, as will be better understood from the following description.

In the annexed drawing 1 have represented my improved tooth-brush. A designates the back of a tooth-brush, and B the handle thereof. The tufts of bristles are secured into the back or stock A in the usual well-known manner, with this exception, to wit: the tufts a are inclined from a point near the handleB to the central perpendicular tufts b, and the tufts a are inclined from the end of the back A to the tufts b, as shown in the drawing.

It will be seen from the above description that the double slant of the bristles will give them a much better hold on the teeth; at the same time a better cleaning efl'ect is obtained by reason of their forcing themselves into the interstices of the teeth.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- 2 A tooth-brush having the body of its bristles divided' into two sections, a a', each section having its bristles parallel to each other, and inclined toward the other section, the space between the section's being occupied by a central tuft of bristlesperpendicular to the base of the brush, substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
