GEORGE WESLEY TINIDALL, OF TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, ASSIGNOR TO 0. E.
FULFO'RD LIMITED, OF TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, A COMPANY OF GREAT BRITAIN.
soar-STICK HOLDER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Gsoncn \Vnsnnr TIN- DALI, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and a resident of the city of Toronto, in the county of York, in the Province of Ontario, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Soap-Stick Holders, of which the following is the specification.
My invention relates to improvements in soap stick holders, and the object of the invention is to devise a soap stick holder in which the soap stick may be readily inserted in the holder or replaced by a new stick whenever required by the purchaser, and is such as will dispense with the threading of the soap stick and the employment of anyone skilled for the insertion of the stick in the holder, and it consists essentially of the arrangement and construction of parts as hereinafter more particularly explained.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view through my holder showing the soap stick in position.
Fig. 2 is a perspective detail of a portion of a soao stick and the metal connector can carried thereby.
In the drawings like characters or reference indicate corresponding parts in each figure.
1 indicates a soap stick.
2 is a cap formed of suitable material, the upper portion of which is knurled, as indicated at 3, the intermediate portion threaded as indicated at 4, and the lower portion provided with inwardly stamped spicular projections 5. lVhen the cap is ready for insertion upon the end of a stick, the spicular projections 5 rest flush with the surface of the wall of the cap, and after the soap stick has been inserted within-the cap, are forced inward into the soap so as to engage the stick.
6 is a cylindrical casing or container for the soap stick, the edge of which is provided with an enlarged portion 7 which is internally threaded- 8 is a closing cap for the container 6. The cap 8 is provided with an annular flange 8", the periphery of which is preferably knurled, and with an annular inwardly extending flange 9 having an external thread engaging the internal thread of the en- Serial No. 683,383.
larged portion 7. The upper portion of the flange 9 is reduced so as to fit within the upper end of the container 6, such portion being inturnedly threaded so as to engage with the threaded portion 4iot the cap 2.
10 is a projection or projections extending from the cap 2, being stamped in the metal thereof and fitting into a correspond ing depression or depressions 11 in the cap 8. This construction serves to prevent the easy or inadvertent unscrewing of the soap stick cap from the container cap unless forced manually by turning the soap stick cap in the cap of the casing so as to spring the projections 10 out of the depressions 11. The wall of the container 6 is preferably provided with an annular bead 12.
From this description it will be seen that I have devised a very simple device where by a soap stick may be readily inserted in container. I
It will be understood that the cap 2 is sccured upon the soap stick by the manufac tin-er, a cap being sold with ever stick so that all the puichaser has to do is to remove the closing cap 8 of the container, unscrew the old soap stick from the cap, and screw the new soap stick into position.
iVhatI claim as my invention is:
1. A soap stick holder comprising a cylindrical casing, a closing cap for the casing, a soap stick cap in which a soap stick is adapted to be permanently inserted, a threaded connection between the soap stick cap and container cap, and inter-engaging means formed in the soap stick cap and container cap for preventing the inadvertent unscrewing of the'soap stick cap from the container cap.
2. A soap stick holder comprising a cylindrical casing, a closing cap for the casing, a soap stick cap in which a soap stick is adapted to be permanently inserted, a threaded connection between the soap stick cap and container cap, projections :rtending from the bottom of the soap stick cap, and depressions formed in the inner face off the container cap into which the aforesaid projections fit when the soap stick cap is in position within the container cap.
