` rllhe base plate 5 is provided with a relatively wide recess 13at in its outer surface and above the horizontal slot in which the shade roller supporting member is mounted. The plate 5 is provided with a pair ot oppo sitely extending inwardly directed lugs 14 which are in spaced relation to and overlie the, bottom of the recess 13a so as to form guideways between these lugs and the plate 5 into which may be slid the conventional type ot double curtain pole supporting bracket 15. These brackets embody a plate portion which is ordinarily fastened directly to the window trame but which is removi ably slid downwardly into the recess 13a when employed with the present form of bracket and which is' provided with upwardly projecting` pins 16 adapt-ed to enter pertorations in the ends of the curtain rods in the usual well known manner.

1n view of the foregoing it is believed that the construction and operation as well as the advantages of the present invention will be readily understood and appreciated by those skilled in the art.

Minor changes may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

What is claimed is l. In combination with a base plate car rying a shade roller supporting member and adapted tor attachment to a window frame, said base plate being formed with two recessesin its outer taceyone recess extendingdownwardly trom the upper edge of said plate and the other recess extending down wardly from the first mentioned recess, and retaining lugs at the side edges of the said recesses, the first named recess being adapted for the reception of a conventional curtain pole supporting bracket of the double type, and the last mentioned recess being adapted for the reception of a conventional curtain pole supporting bracket of the single type.

2. ln combination with a base plate carrying a shade roller supporting member and adapted for attachmentto a window Jframe, saidbase plate being formed with selec tively usable recesses of diierent sizes arranged in connnunicating relation and each adapted to receive a selected type of conven tional curtain pole supporting bracketn and lugs at opposite sides of each of the recesses projecting toward each other and over hanging the respective recess whereby to retain the curtain polevsupporting bracket in position.

3. ln combination with a base plate car ryinga shade roller supporting member and adapted `tor attachment to a window trame, said hase plate having a recess in its outer tace opening from the top of the base plate and adapted tor snug reception of the base plate portion ot a conventional curtain pole 1 face of. the base plate of the shade roller supporting bracket at the lower end of the first named recess, and lugs at opposite sides of the second recess projecting toward each other, and overhanging the bottom of said second recess to retain the base plate of a curtain pole supporting bracket in said recess except upon upward displacement of said curtain pole vsupporting bracket, kthe last named recess being of a relatively/nar row width for snug reception ofv the base plate of a conventional form of single curp tain pole supporting bracket.
