FLASH-LIGHT SUPPORT.

Application filed August 25, 1923. Serial No. 659,242.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN HAUENSTEIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Flash-Light Supports, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in flash light supports or shoes, and is adapted to hold an ordinary hand flash light in position while doing a piece of work, so that the hands of the operator are free to use various tools, etc.

The shoe is adapted for holding a flash light while changing tires on the road, or making repairs, etc., in garages, machine shops, households, and in fact in any place Where a flash light maybe used to advantags.

The shoe or support is preferably molded of rubber, or other suitable material, and is made in one piece with no extra parts to become lost.

The bottom of said shoe is provided with foot rests so that it may set upon uneven surfaces without rocking or tipping over;

With the above and other objects in view, reference will now be had to the accompanying drawing, in which:

Fig. 1 is a side elevation of the shoe with a flash light in position therein.

Fig. 2 is a bottom View of the shoe, showing the tabs foot pieces or supporting members upon which the device rests.

In carrying out the invention, a support or shoe is employed, having somewhat the shape of an ordinary shoe, and being composed of a base 2, and a socket 4 extending upwardly at an oblique angle and into which the flash light may be placed.

The base 2 of the shoe is provided with supporting members 8, preferably, cast integral with said base. preferably three in number so that the shoe may rest upon uneven surfaces without. rocking or turning over.

In practice, the flash light A is slid into the socket 4, the switch B on the side of said flash light sliding into the groove 6, after which the flash light A is turned a slight distance so that the button B will move into the lateral extension at the bottom of said slot and thus lock the flash light from coming out of the shoe The shoe and its flash light may then be placed upon the road, or a floor, table or other suitable place to illuminate the object on which it is desired to work, the hands of the worker being left free to go about his task.

From the foregoing description it will be understood that I have provided a flash light support well adapted for the purpose intended, and while I have shown and described the preferred form of said support, it is to be understood that such changes The members 8 are may be made in the, construction, proportion and arrangement of parts as properly fall within the spirit and scope of the claim.

Having thus described my invention, What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

In a device of the character described a base, a socket extending obliquely from said base and adapted to support a flash-light, and anL-shaped slot within the socket to receive and coac't with the flash light switch in holding the flash-light in the socket.
