TYPEVTRITER-PAPER SUPPORT.
Application filed June 30, 1924.
This invention relates to a typewriter paper support and has for its primary object the combination of an auxiliary sup port with a main paper feed mechanism of a typewriter so that a continuous strip of paper may be fed through the typewriter so as to prevent loss of time in continuous typewritin g.
An object of the invention is the construction of a support capable of tt'eeding a continuous strip of paper around the typewriter roller for making continuous records.
A feature of our invention is the substantial inexpensive manner in which the parts are connected together and to the typewriter so that the roll of paper will be properly supported and may be readily renewed.
With these and other objects in view the invention will be better understood from the following detailed description taken in connection with he accompanying drawing wherein Fig. 1 is a plan view of our invention shown attached to a portion ot a typewriter.
Fig. 2 is a rear elevation.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 4; is a sectional view on the line -ll of Fig. 1.
Fig. 5 is a sectional view on the line 5 of Fig. 1.
Again referring to the drawing illustrating one or" the many constructions of our invention our improved typewriter paper support comprises a pair of arms 1 and 2 which have one end pivotally connected to the typewriter as indicated at 3. These arms may have upwardly swinging movement and to support the same in horizontal position they are supported on the rest 4:. Mounted on the endsot the arm are the clips 5 to one of which is pivotally connected one end 01 the rod 6 and the other end of this red is forked to straddle the clip in Serial No. 723,346.
its locked position by the set screw 7 that also binds against the arms for locking the clip in position.
A similar set screw 8 is mounted in the other clip and binds against the arm. A roll of paper 9 is mounted on the rod and is fed forwardly and then around the typewriter roll 10. Thus it will be seen that a continuous strip of paper is provided so that the typewriter may be continuously used without periodic changing of the paper.
For the purpose of accurately supporting the roll of paper in proper position and allow for any slight irregularities we provide a pair of coil springs 11 engaging against til on the rod.
ends of the roll and held in position by EljilEilllElG bearings 12 which are mounted 1 'erent relations and, therefore, we do not desire to be limited in any manner except set forth in the claim hereunto appended.
Having thus descrlbed our lnvention what we claim is A typewriter paper support comprising arms pivotally connected to the typewriter, a rod pivotally connected at one end to one of the arms and detachably connected at the other end with the other arm, a paper roll slidably mounted on the rod, and spring devices engaging opposite ends of the roll.
In testimony whereof we afiix our signatures.
ALFRED J. VVILLEY. FORREST H. VAUGHN.
