In said drawings, 1 is the carriage beams carrying the implement. 2 is a subsoil plow, and 4: an axle constructed with two horizontally aligned spindles 6, with an axis 8 which is parallel with spindles 6, and a spaced distance therefrom, and with connecting arms 4. Wheel 5 is adapted to rotate on spindle 6, and the axis 81s rotatable in a bearing. 9 which is attached to the beam 1. To wheel 51 have attached a ratchet 10 which is concentric with said wheel. The ratchet consists of two rings or discs 11 and 12 which are connected with a plurality of stops constructed of rollers 23 held in position with studs 2%. Lever 25, shown in the drawing, is formed integral with, or attached to pawl 15, for
' the purpose of moving'the pawl in operative relation with the ratchet. It is noted that .the hook 15 on pawl 15 is adapted to hold the ratchet until the wheel has rotated so that the next roller to the one'engaged moves under the pawl 15 and kicks it out of operative relation, The spring 27 assists in normally holding the pawl 15 out of operative relation with ratchet 10.
The lever 16 is formed integral, or rigidly attached to the axis 8, to which lever a sliding bar 17 is pivoted. Sliding bar '17 has a notch 18 whichco-opcrates with a stop pin. 19, attached to a post 29. The mechanism heretofore described is timed so that when the pawl :15 is kicked out of operative relation with the ratchet the notch 18'is engaged with the pin 19 and the implement is thus held in a raised position. To post 29 is pivoted a lever 31 to which is attached an eccentric adapted to rotate under sliding lever 17, so that by operating said lever and eccentric the sliding bar can be released from stop 19. sliding bar moving backward with the forward movement of the carriage, thus per-' mitting the plow or implement to be drawn Such release results in the into or towards the earth. The operation of the device is as follows:
When it is desired to raisethe implement,
pawl 15 is placed in operative relation with ratchet 10, and the forward movement of wheel 5 raises the beam and implement at tached thereto which is then held in the raised position by sliding rod 17 and pin 19.
When 1t is desired to lower the implement the sliding bar 17 is released from pin 19 by means of lever 31 and eccentric 32, and as the awl 15 has automatically been released, t e'implement can assume its normal position which would be to drop to the earth.

Having described my invention, I claim: 1. In a power lift implement, a frame, an axle journaled transversely of said frame, an arm on each end of the axle, each arm terminating at the lower end with a spindle,
traction wheels rotatable on said spindle, a pair of s aced disks mounted on one spindle and fixe to the adjacent wheel, a plurality of pins extending transversely between the disks, and at regular intervals in a circular formation adjacent the edges of the discs, an elongated pawl pivotally mounted on the frame at a point underneath the axis of the axle and normally extending forwardly alongside of the adjacenbarm, said pawl having a hooked end terminating above the pins, means for swinging the pawl into an engageable position with said pins, whereby when the hooked end is engaged with one pin and the disks rotate, the next succeeding pin will engage the pawl to disengage the hooked end.
2. In a power lift implement, a frame, an axle journaled transversely on said frame, an arm on each end of the axle, each arm terminating at its lower end with a spindle, traction wheels rotatable on said spindles, a
pair of spaced disks mounted on one spindle and fixed to the adjacent wheel, a plurality of ins extending transversely between the dis s and at regular intervals in a circular formation adjacent the edges of the disks, an elongated pawl pivotally mounted on the frame underneath the axis of the axle and having a hooked end terminating above the -ally engaged with the crank and having a notch, a pin, and a supporting structure on the frame for the last mentioned pin so that said last mentioned pin may be engaged by the notch of the bar.
