To all whom it may concern:

Be 1t known that I, LnoPoLo LnnNnR,a

citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, county of Kings, andStat'e of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Display Cards,

of which the following is a specification.

The object of my improved card is to display a necktie and corresponding handkerchief inan attractive manner, the tie being placed in position on the picture of a man. This and other objects are accomplished by my invention, one embodiment of which is hereinafter more particularly set forth.

For a more particular description of my invention, reference is to be had to the ac companying drawings, forming a part here of, in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of my'improved display card.

Figure 2 is a side elevation of the same.

Figures 3, 4t and 5 show details of construction relating to the brace at the rear.

Throughout the various views of the nate similar parts.

My improved display card 1 is provided on its face with the picture of a bust of a man 2 and under'this is a slot through which is held a necktie 3 with itsends l wii'apped about a support 5 which will be described in detail below. Below the necktie is a. portion 6 of the card; which is set aside for suitable advertising matter. Below this is a slot 7 with downturned ends, the main part of which runs parallel with the part 6 and the ends of which run parallel with the border of the card, and in the space made by this slot is inserted a handkerchief 8 which, in the preferred embodiment of my invention, matches the tie. The bottom 9 of the card is truncated so as to rest on a table, or other support 10.

The face of this card 1 may be given any ornamental design that is desired.

The back of this card is provided with the brace 5 which is composed of three parts,

drawings, similar reference characters desigone llwhieh is adapted to reach from the I support to the card, another 12 which is secured to the back of the card and a connecting piece 13 around which the endsfl are secured. This bracing piece ,13 has a tongue 14 at its end which is adaptedto enter a slot 15 which is given a peculiar shape, namely it has anenlarged top 16 through which the tongue let. may pass readily and a reduced portion 17 below this which is adapted to engage the narrow part 18 of the tongue at any of several levels sothat the card may be adjusted toany ofseveral inclinations.

In view of the foregoing. the use of my improved card will be readily understood A tie 13 is secured. as described, and below this is placed a handkerchief 8, the two matching, and-then the card is placed in a conspicuous position so that the effect of a matching tie and handkerchief will suggest itself to a customer. W'Vhile these are so displayed, the brace 5 will. su sport the card at any desired inclination so asto give the best effect.

VVhlle I have shown and described one embodiment of my invention, it is obvious that it is not restricted thereto, but that it is broad enough to cover all structures that come within the scope of the annexed claim.

Having thus described my inventioin what I claim is: i

As an article of manufacture. a. card having a picture of a man head thereon, an opening therein under said head for recuir ing and displaying the knot of a necktie, an elongated horizontal slot extending across said card under said opening for receiving and displaying a llandkerchief. a support for said card, and. a member connecting said support and said card above said opening for bracing said support andconstituting a means to which parts of said tie may be attached and held indisplay position.
