JAdmission of gasoline from the vacuum tank to the lnain feed tank is permitted through the valved seat or port 23 located in the bottoni of the vacuinn tank, and a ball valve 24tin the feed tank l controls this flow of gasoline from one tank to the other.
The feed valve 24 is under control of a float 9.5 in the feed `tank which eo-operates with a bell crank lever 26 that also has a snap action. The lever is pivoted on a bracket 27 in the feed tank and supported from the bottom of the vacnuin tank, and the spring 2S snaps the lever to open or close the feed valve due to the action of the float.
The appliance is equipped with the usual accessories as a priming cup and valve 29 carried by the top ln and opening` into the vacuuni tank, a drain cock a() for the feed tank, and a ventor overflow pipe 3l coinninnicating with the top or upper portion of the feed tank and extending up alongside the tank to near the 'top of the vacuum tank.
The port d3 is comparatively large to perniit a quick flow of gasoline from the vacunar tank to the feed tankand the vcntrpipo 3l permits atmospheric pressure in the feed tank to insure flow `of gasoline therefrom to the carbureter. The float automatically controls the admission of gasoline to the feed tank and the valve 2li is closed with a snap action by the overbalanced sprine' QS when the proper level is reached.
Thus the two floats by their inovenient automatically control suction frein the vacur-.rn tank and feed of gasoline to the vaeuuin tank, and admission of gasoline from the vacuuin tank to the feed tank respectively`Y the feed tank being at all tiines in connnnnication with the carbureter.
Having thus fully described iny invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Lettersv Patent is- In a vacuuin tank provided with spaced suction and vent ports in the top thereof, a bracket depending from the tank top between said ports, a three arrn lever pivoted on said bracket, two arins of said lever eX- tending oppositely from one end thereof and having balls forn'led on the endstlicreof for closing said ports, a snap throw spring` er;- tending` between s( id bracket and the end of the third lever arin, said last nained arm having an arin extending` laterally there-- from, and a float carrying stein pivoted ou the outer end of said laterally extending' arin for control of said lever movement.
