yvAsnBoILER Ann rnnoorn'ron.
Application filed May 6,
To all whomit may concern Be it known that 1, WILLIAM Guano (luvonn, a citizen of Italy, residing at Gar: field, county of Bergen, and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful lin iirovements in l Vashboilers and Percolators, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in wash boilers and particularly to types adapted to have the hot water percolating upon the clothes to be washed therein.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a wash boiler of this type, the percolator of which is removable and in which the wash is prevented from being raised by the steam so that every article and part of the same is uniformly steamed or washed and the formation of or dark spots on the wash, which make the same unsightly. is
effectively avoided.
i-inother object of the invention is the provision of a wash boiler of this character in which the water is strained before coming in touch with the wash, and which allows a convenient inspection of the percolating process.
ii further object of the invention is the provision. of a Wash boiler equipped with a second removable and perforated bottom above the cone shaped and perforated foot of the percolator.
These and other like objects are attained by the novel construction and combination of parts hereinafter more fully described and shown in the accompanying drawing,
forming a material part of this disclosure,
and in which Figure 1 is a vertical section through a wash boiler constructed according to my invention.
Figure 2 is a top plan View thereof taken 1921. Serial NO. 467,341.
a plurality of openings 21 is resting with its feet 22 upon the conical foot 17 of the percolator. y
This plate 20 presents a resting place for the articles 23 to be washed.
To the inner walls of the boiler are attached, near the upper end thereof, a plurality of superposed eyes 24 adapted to be engaged by the hooks 25 of a strainer cloth 26 having a central hole 27 for the passage of the tube 16.
Upon the upper end of the tube 16, which is provided with a threaded part 28, a spray head nozzle 29 is secured by means of its band 30 provided with inner screw thread, and handles 31 are conveniently arranged at the outer wall of the'boiler.
in operation, the 'water mixed with a certain amount of soap or washing powder is poured into the percolator and will collect at the bottom of the boiler between the same and the plate 20 afterthe latter has been brought into the boiler with its feet 22 restlug upon the conical foot part 17.
Then the clothes to be boiled are brought into the boiler to rest upon the plate 20 whereupon the strainer cloth 26 is placed into the boiler with its hooks engaging the corresponding number of eyes 24 at a dis tance from the cover corresponding to the quantity of wash to be boiled. When then the boiler is placed upon a hot stove the water will commence to boil and percolate through the nozzle or cap 29 and through the strainer cloth 26, and the wash, whereby the strainer cloth will collect all impurities contained in the water and wash. .The cloth 26 will also serve to hold the Wash down against the action of the steam so that all its parts are uniformly treated.
