Application filed teptemter 27, 1931. Serial No. 50$,t96.
- To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES QUIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ottawa, in the county of Franklin and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tag or Label Holders; and 1 do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a tag or label holder.
The main object is to provide an article of this kind which may be quickly applied to and removed from merchandise generally and perform the various functions and possees the numerous advantages which appear hereinafter from the description following of the practical embodiment illustrated by way of example in accompanying drawings.
Another object of the invention is to provide av tag or label holder in which tags or labels bearing price marks or the like may be readily inserted into or removed from the holder, and in which the number of times and places when and where the holder may be used is practically withput limit.
In said drawings Figure l is a perspective View of a form of clasp embodying my improvement.
Figure 2 is a side elevation of the clasp of Figure 1;
Figure 3 is a perspective view of another form of holder embodying my invention, and
Figure 4 is a side elevation of the holderillustrated in Figure 3.
Referring specifically to the drawings, wherein like referencecharacters designate like or corresponding parts throughout the views thereof and first to the device of Figures 1 and 2 illustrate a construction adapted for substantially horizontal attachment.
Fit
In this form, a clasp is provided having a resilient leaf- 26 and a shorter leaf 27 returned and disposed thereover. From the leaf 27, a plate 28, integral therewith, extends upwardl and substantially vertically. The plate28 1s wider than the strip 27 so that the blank from which this form of holder is made may be out longitudinally from one end relatively close to the side edges to provide strips 29 which are bent upwardly against the back of the plate 28 5t and extend above the same. Plate 28 and strips 29 coperate to clasp a .label, tag or.
ticket, between the same and the exposed portion of the tag and label rest a ainst and 1s braced b I plate 28. may be delineated as suggested.-
The formof Figures 3 and t utilizes the plates 28 strips 29 and leaf 27 shown in Figures 9 and l0 and they function in the same manner. Strip 26 is omitted however and strip 2'? is perfectly flat, and to its bottom a pad 29 is secured, which may be felt and glued or otherwise fastened thereto, so that the leaf 27 may rest directly on highly polished furniture or other articles, without danger of marring the same.
The improved holderof all of the forms,
with the exception of the felt are adapted to be varied in a single piece, from blanks of resilient material, usually and preferably metal.
Changes Within'the spirit and scope may be resorted to.
What is claimed is i so 1. holder made from a single blank of material having a mounting means, plates disposed at an angle thereto and extending beyond an edge of said means and a strip integral with said plate extending upwardly from its lower edge beyond the first mentloned edge and cooperating with the plate to form a clasp.
2.- A holder having mounting means, a
plate integral therewith disposed at an angle at) thereto and extending beyond both side edges thereof, strips integral with said. plate extending from the lower edge thereof beyond said side edges upwardly relatively close to the plate to cooperate therewith to to form a clasp, and said strips extending above the plate to form supporting means for a clasped article.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses. CHARLES QUIN, Witnesses:
