FLY-PAPER HOLDER.
Application filed October a, 1921.
T 0 all whom it may concern.
Be it known that 1, PAUL A. RAUTl-I, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boonville, in the county of VVarrich and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fly -Paper Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to supports for sheets of fly paper, more particularly of the sticky variety, and has for one of itsobj ects to simplify and improve the construction and increase the utility of devices of this character.
Another object of this invention is to provide a device of this character whereby the sheets of paper may be supported firmly and easily attached and detached and in position to be handled without danger of the fingers coming in contact with the sticky face of the paper.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction as hereinafter shown and described and then specifically pointed out in the claim, and in the drawings illustrative of the preferred embodiment of the invention Figure 1 is a plan view.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation.
Fig. 3 is a detached perspective view of one of the lower clip jaws.
The improved device is constructed from two sections of wire connected as by entwisting intermediate the ends as shown at 10, and the unconnected portions extended obliquely in opposite directions and curved as shown at 11.
The terminal of each portion 11 is flat tened as shown at 19, and directed inwardly or toward the interior of the device, and the flattened portion provided with upstanding perforated cars 20. Each of the flattened portions 19 constitutes one jaw of a clip device, the other jaw being represented at 21 and pivoted at 22 between the cars 20.
Each clip device is provided with a spring 23 to hold the operative ends of the aws in yieldable contact with the fly paper, indicated at 24;.
Serial No. 505,421.
By this simple construction the paper 24 can be firmly supported and readily moved from place to place without the fingers comingin contact with the sticky surface of the paper.
The improved device can be easily attached to or detached from the sheet of paper without the fingers coming in contact with the sticky surface and moved from place to place as required. The paper is held in stretched position and thus prevented from being displaced by the wind or from other causes.
The resiliency of the portions 11 of the holder retain the paper in its stretched condition.
The improved device may be constructed of any required size or proportion to correspond to the form and size of the sheet of paper to which it is attached.
A loop 25 is formed in one of the portions 11 at its juncture with the flattened portion 19, to form a convenient means for suspending the device from a rail, hook, or the like, when not in use.
The preferred embodiment of the invention is disclosed in the drawings and set forth in the specification, but it will be understood that modifications within the scope of the claim may be made in the construction without departing from the principle of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is A fly paper holder formed from two sections of wire united intermediate the ends and the portions not united extended 0bliquely in opposite directions and curved away from the united portions, the terminals of the extensions being flattened and bent inwardly to each form one jaw of a clip device adapted to bear against one face of a section of fly paper, and an opposing clip jaw pivoted to the flattened portion and adapted to bear against the other face of the paper.
In testimony whereof, I affix my signature hereto.
PAUL A. RAUTH.
