Be it known that l, EDWARD M. BUTLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at (roton Falls, in the county of Westchester and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Cuff Link, of which the following is a specification.

llhe object of my invention is to provide a novel, conveniently adjusted resilient cuff link adapted to permit otpulling up the shirt sleeves Without unfastening the cud button, and to hold the sleeve above the elbow Without the use of an arm elastic.

lteterring to the accompanying drawings, it provide suitable buttons 1 and 2 having like eyes 3, engaged by the hooked ends 5 of a suitable coil spring 4-, or equivalent Hooks 5 are bent as shown in Fig. 6, with the ends close to the buttons to prevent their becoming accidentall-y detached. The hooks 5 are close to the coil spring 4 and only long enough to engage the eyes 3 or the buttons.

Referring to Figs. 4 and 5, I provide a tube 9, attachedby a hook 5 to the eye 3 of oneot the cult buttons 2, While to the eye 3 of the other cult button is detachably engaged hook 5 of rod 6, which carries an end Washer 7 that engages the end of a suitable coil spring 8, the other end of spring 8 being engaged by the opposite end 10 of metal tube 9.

What I claim is:

1. In a cud link the combination of cult buttons having eyes mounted thereon, a

' metal tube having a hook attached to one end and adapted to detachably engage the eye of one of the cuff buttons, a rod having a Washer fixed to one end and having a hook at the other end, adapted to detachably engage the eye of the other end button, the aforesaid Washer being slidably mounted within the metal tube, and a spring resiliently bearing against the Washer and against the other end of the tube, whereby to provide a resilient cuff link of attractive appearance in Which the spring is concealed and protected by a metal tube, substantially as set forth.

2. In a cud link, the combination of eufi buttons having corresponding eyes, hooks detachably connected to the respective eyes resilient means associated with one of the aforesaid hooks connected with the eyes for permitting of a resilient movement of one button apart from the other, and metal tubular means completely enclosing the resilient means, substantially as and for the purposes hereinbefore described.
