With the majority of ovens now employed, it is necessary when insertingl material .in the oven or removing material t erefrom, to expose the hands tothe intense heat ot' they oven. lt has frequently happened that persons have been seriously burned either while j inserting or removing trays or pans therefrom. l
rlhe primary object of this invention, therefore, is to overcome this inconvenience by providing an oven witha set of movable trays or shelves, the position of which is controlled by the oven door and which will automatically be moved out of the oven when the doorv is opened.
Another object is to provide a novel form of mechanism for actuating the shelves.
A still further object is to provide an oven, which'will be simple and practical in construction, strong, durable and eilicient in use,
and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture.
With these and other objects in view,the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts as will be more fully hereinafter described and pointed out in the claims.

rlhe operation of the frame 4 whenthe Referring in detail to the drawings, the reference numeral 1 indicates a rectangular oven open at its forward end. rlhe open forward end of the oven is normally closed by a door 2, hlnged to thev door ofthe oven,4 as indicatedat', and adapted to swing downl wardly and outwardly .et represents a rectangular shelf supportwing frame which ordinarily supports a pair of removableshelves 5 and 6, which receive articles to beV baked in the oven.
The lnvention in this case resides principally 1n the provision of means compelling thev frame i to move out upon the door 2, when this'door is opened. Bracketsl 7 are secured to the door of the oven .at each side thereof. Pairsl of levers 8 are pivotally connected to the brackets and to the top frame bar of the shelf supporting frame 1l. A pair of jointed arms 9 comprise a pair` of sectlons 10 and 11. The sections 1 0 are pivotally connected to/ the inner face of the oven door 2, adjacent its upper end and the sections 11 are each pivot'ally connectedl to one of the levers 8 adjacent their lower ends. 'Lugs 12 `on the free ends of the sections 10 are engageable with the sections 11 to limit the pivotal movement of the jointed arms in one direction.
A roller or buffer 13 is carried by the forward end of the trame 4.

Any approved form of latch, designated by the reference numeral 17, may be employed for locking the oven door in closed door is swung open is as follows:
Partial opening of the door 2 straightens out the jointed arms 9. as indicated in -dotted l-ines in Figure 1. Further movementr of the door will operate to pivot the levers 8 on the brackets 7. As the upper ends of the levers 8 are pulled forwardly by the arms V9, the frame 4 will be lifted 0H the floor of the oven. '.By the time the door 2 has reached itl@ the limit of its downward movement, the i varms 9 will have pulled the levers 8 tothe of the oven and will rest upon'the door 2, as
indicated in thel same figure. When the oven door is closed, the arms 9 and levers .8 operate to again restore the frame 4 to its normal posltion in the oven, as will be readily understood.
It is to be noted that the frame-4: is of any shape and construction to conveniently support the removable trays 5 and 6, the particular frame construction being immaterial to this invention.
Although I have 'illustrated one of the preferred embodiments of my invention, it will be evident ,that various slight changes and alterations might be made in the general form and arrangement of the arts described without de arting from t einvention and hence I o not wish to limit myself to the precise details set forth, but shall consider mjyself at liberty. to make such slight changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
I claim:
l. In an apparatus of the character described, an ov-en, a tray supporting frame in the oven, a door hinged to the floor of the oven and adapted to swing downwardly and outwardly, brackets secured to the tloor ofthe oven, levers pivotally connected at one end to the brackets and at their other ends to' the frame, 'jointed arms pivotally connected to the free edge of the door and to the intermediate portions of the levers, whereby opening of the door lifts the frame out of the oven and seats the same on the door.
2. In an apparatus of the character der scribed7 an oven, a tray supporting frame in the oven, a door hinged to the floor of the oven and adapted to swing downwardly and outwardly, brackets secured to the Hoor of the oven, levers pivotally connected at one `end to the brackets and `at their other ends to the frame, jointed arms pivotally connected to the free edge of the door and tothe intermediate portions of the levers, whereby opening of the door lifts the frame out of the oven and seats the same on the door, and means cushioning the seating of the frame on the door. j

In an apparatus of the character'described, an oven, a tray supporting frame a door hinged to the ioor of the oven and adapted to swing downwardly and outwardly, brackets secured to the floor of the oven, levers pivotally connected at one end Vto the brackets and at their other ends to the frame, jointed arms pivotally connected to the free edge ofthe door and to the intermediate portions of the levers, whereby opening of the door lifts the frame out of the oven and seats the same on the door, and means cushioning the seating of the frame on `the door, said means comprising yrollers carried vby the frame and engageable with the door upon seating of the rame.
. 6. An apparatus of the character described, including an oven, a door hinged to the floor of` theoven and adapted to swing downwardly and outwardly, a frame in the oven, means associated with the frame for supporting a plurality of removable shelves,
oven and to the frame, links pivoted to the' intermediate portions of certain ofthe levers, links pivoted to the inner face of the door adjacent its free edge and a `rule joint connecting said links.
