JOE KOUREK; OF WARD, SOUTH DAKOTA.
BOILER.
To all whom it may concern: 7
Be it known that 1, Jor. KoUnnK, a citizen of Czecho-Slovakia, residing at \Vard, in the county of Moody and State of. South Dakota, have: invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boilers, of whichthe following is a specification,
This invention relates to-certain new and useful improvements in boilers and particularly to the type adapted for the washing of clothes and the like. 7
The primary object of the invention resides in the provision of a boiler wherein a reticulated receptacle or wire cage is supported within the boiler and spaced from the walls thereof with hook devices associated with the wire receptacle for holding the same in an elevated-position with respect to the boiler with the wire receptacle overlying the boiler.
A further object of the invention has particular reference to a clothes washing boiler wherein a .wire receptacle has a perforated plate positioned in the bottom thereof with reinforcing ribs carried by the wire receptacle to strengthen the same and to space the wire receptacle from the walls of the boiler.
With the above general objects in view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described shown in the accompanying drawings and claimed.
In the drawings wherein like reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views,
Figure 1 is a top plan view of a clothes washing boiler constructed in accordance with the present invention, the perforated bottom plate of the wire receptacle being removed,
Figure 2 is a vertical lon itudinal sectional View taken on line II-- I of Figure 1 showing the wire receptacle within the boiler with the reinforcing ribs spacing the wire receptacle from the walls of the boiler,
Figure 3 is a vertical cross sectional view taken on line III-III of Figure 1 showing the handle hooks carried by the wire receptacle, I
Figure 4 is a longitudinal fragmentary sectional view similar to Figure 2 showing the wire receptacle elevated within the boiler I Specification of Letters Patent.

, Application filed June 7, 1921. Serial No. 475,669.
and supported invsuch position by the handle hooks, and
Figure 5 is a detailsectional view taken on line VV of Figure 1 showing the perforated plate in the bottom of the wire receptacle and the handle hooks carried by the wire receptacle.
Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawings, there is illustrated a boiler of the usual design embodying a bottom wall 1 perpendicular walls 2 and lifting handles 3, the boiler being open at its upper end.
A wire clothes containing receptacle is positioned within the boiler and includes side walls 4 of relatively fine mesh and a relatively coarse mesh bottom wall 5 of the same configuration as the boiler but of less dimensions to provide for the reception in the boiler with a space between the side walls 2 of the boiler and the side walls 4 of the wire receptacle. Upper and lower strengthening bands 6 and 7 are carried by the wire receptacle while vertical reinforcing strips 8 are secured to the outer walls of the receptacle 4 to reinforce the same and to space the wire receptacle from the walls 2 of the boiler. The bottom 7 of the receptacle 4 is spaced from the bottom 1 of the boiler by the feet extensions 8 of the strips 8.
As shown in Figure 5, a plate 9 provided with perforations 10 is supported on the bottom mesh 5 of the inner receptacle so that the clothes or articles within the inner receptacle are spaced from the walls of the boiler.
Handle hooks are associated with the wire receptacle and embody an arcuate rod 11 having the ends thereof journaled in adjacent strips 8 as clearly illustrated, the handle hook embodying a rod 12 secured at its lower end to the arcuate rod 11 and provided adjacent the lower end with an outwardly directed book 13, the upper end of the rod 12 being provided with a hand hook 14.
When the wire receptacle is in the position shown in Figures 1 to 3, the same is spaced from the walls of the boiler by the feet 8' of the strips 8 and the vertical edges of the strips as shown in Figures 1 and 3 with the handle hooks 12 entirely received within the boiler to permit a cover of any preferred design bein mounted upon the boiler. When it is esired to drain the clothes within the boiler, preparatory to removing the same, the handle hooks 12 are gripped by the handle portions lt to elevate the same to the position shown in Figure 4 to position the outwardly directed hooks 13 What is claimed as new is:
A boiler of the type described comprising in combination witha boiler casing, a wire receptacle, reinforcing perpendicular strips secured to the outer walls of the Wire receptacle, supporting feet carried by the lower ends of said strips, arcuate rods journaled at their ends in adjacent strips and handle hooks carried by said arcuate rods adapted for engagement with the walls of the boiler casing to hold the wire receptacle in an elevated position.
